Gonna repost this from Facebook cuz I'm crunched for time...
I'm gonna play a little game here...November 1st marks the start of "No Shave November" or "Novembeard" where for various reasons (some say it's for various forms of awareness, others say it's a celebration of a man's masculinity, and I'm sure there are even more reasons out there), some men opt to start off clean shaven and spend the next month allowing their facial hair to grow out. Some will photograph the process regularly, others will just take before and after photos. A friend of mine asked me to participate, but not everyone finds a face covered in hair attractive.
So, I'm giving everyone a vote...you all can decide whether I participate or not.
Voting is not free. It will cost you money, but it will all benefit a good cause--our Relay for Life team.
In order to vote, click the link below and leave a donation for the team. You can donate on my personal page, but a team donation would be preferred as I'm not just doing this for myself. I'm doing it for my team and for everyone they are walking for. Once you've left a donation, message me on here or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
and let me know whether you're voting for me to participate or not.
At the end of voting (October 31st), I will tally up the dollar amounts of the 'yes' votes vs the 'no' votes and whichever one has earned the most money is the direction I will take. Now I do want to add that this isn't a guarantee that I will make it the full month. For those who have attempted to grow beards and failed in the past, you know that about 2-3 weeks in, the itching gets pretty bad and sometimes you just can't handle it anymore. But if the 'yes' votes win, I will try my hardest to push through it and ride out the full month. Now let's make this competitive!
By the way, if you email me and your name isn't clearly posted in the 'from' field or your address, let me know who you are so I can verify you donated! If you have any questions about this, let me know here.
And because I don't want this to be solely a begging for donations thread, anyone else planning on participating in this? Feel free to use this thread to keep track of it this year if you'd like.
I'm subbed so I'll make sure to check it and will try to keep you all updated on my progress unless the "no" votes win.
Hint: As of right now, the "yes" votes are ahead, but I won't say by how much.
