Not sure I will ever buy a NEW vehicle... two NEW and DEAD Nissans.

Awhile ago there was a discussion on this forum about someone who had a Jeep go bad on them right after buying it. I chimed in about buying a Nissan Frontier that did the same thing the day I bought it.
Well, last week I bought a 2013 Nissan Titan, fully loaded, all possible options and after 247 miles it had to be towed to the dealership because the engine went in to "limp mode". Dealership calls me today to say that the engine is bad and that they want to get me a new vehicle but it will take 4 weeks to get.
I am not the least bit pleased with this. Two Nissans, both bought brand new from the same dealership die within 250 miles (the first one was under 30 miles). They have agreed to back out of the deal and I will be picking up a check for my down payment this evening.
Im really glad now that I kept my Jeep YJ, as it seems to be running strong. Maybe I will go take a look at a Rubicon Unlimited...

Not to be a "naysayer" but those things do happen to MOST any vehicle.........................sometimes.....howe ver the ease of working on my TJ and the availlbility of after market parts and support from Forums like this is the reason I bought a '12 JK for my wife last year.

Picked up my check from the dealer and am going to check out the 2013 Rubicon Unlimited with the family this evening... Only issue I have so far is that the local Jeep dealerships ONLY have them with hardtop and I would definitely want a soft top.

Aftermarket soft tops are plentiful...
Side note: I bought a new Silverado 4wd in 2002. The transmission went out with less than 400 miles on it. I got the warranty work done, and other than regular maintenance, I never had to have a bit of work done on it again. I traded it off at 170,000 miles, and felt it was as solid as any vehicle on the road.

You can pick up a Harken hoist to help lift off the hard top for about $125. With that, pulling the top is about a fifteen-minute job for one person.
