Number of Soldiers in WW2

I'm doing a research paper for about MB's and wanted to make a comparison of how many MB's were produced during the war versus the number of Soldiers in the war, I cant find how many Soldiers the US had in WW2 though, only the number of casualties. Does anybody know where I can find this? Google isn't coming with anything for me, and I couldnt find it in the few books I looked in.
Thanks

sight: seeing something.
Site: a location, like a building site.

I don't correct grammar usually, but since you mentioned it's a college paper....

I just glanced at this, but I think it's what you're looking for. Fact Sheet: America's Wars - Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs That's off of the VA website, so you can use it as an actual academic source. Try contacting them directly for a little more info and they can probably give you a non internet source. As a side note, my family found out recently, after my grandfather passed away, that he was awarded the Silver Star in World War II. Nobody even knew about it, he never told anyone. It wasn't until we received his service record for the funeral that we found out.
