I am not sure where you are going with this. I have 2 coworkers that still have children on their insurance plans. Both have kids over 18, and this was well before obamacare went through.

Serving your country does not increase nor decrease one's patriotism, only one's pride in having done so. Just because someone has not served, does not lessen their patriotism, as you have not so sublimely intoned.

Your kind, in their inability to offer solutions, promulgates the stereotypical American and their overt hypocrisy. You pick and choose what parts of Democracy you want and demand others follow YOUR lead.

YOUR kind of Democracy, where the minority stifles, is what is playing the country for a fool these days.

Problem is, that the GOV. is now setting MIN> requiremnts, such as birthcontrol pills.. but what if your over 50, no kids, .. fixed. and dont want to pay for that. too bad. the cost is lumped into it. hence the big issue, why plans are being canceled.

people that want a plan, catered to what THEY want, cant really get it anymore, because they have to get .. min (government mandated) items, maybe they dont want.

what u are losing, is Choice. spin it how ever you want, its all about control, and people that feel its a "right", which its not but thats a discussion for another time.

From reading the thread, and sorting through the bs, it looks like it boils down to two main camps: those who think the government is competent, benevolent, and has the best interests of the people in mind, and those who think they aren't. I don't think either camp is any more or less patriotic than the other, but I do think those that trust Washington to make good decisions are kidding themselves...

Kind off topic, but everyone should have a read of this. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013...ng-commanders/ I've spoken with several friends inside the military actively serving, all have said there are rumors of a split in the military resulting in a civil war and even marshal law being declared on some lower states. These are only rumors of course but people are talking.

Ooops!

Sebelius today testifying "The website has never crashed" (it crashed again while she was testifying) = priceless.

Good observation, whetstone. I'm in the latter camp. Years in the making, hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the government can't provide a working website.

Logical solution: Give them control of healthcare!

Would the president had been so blase about the whole affair if it were his campaign website that had similar glitches?

I think not.

Only condition under which children over the age of 18 were allowed to be on parents insurance after the age of 18......if enrolled in an APPROVED education institution.

look it up.... truths are STILL truths.... even if you disagree.....

That's the only time insurance coverage was REQUIRED for those over 18. You should learn the difference between MANDATED coverage, and OPTIONAL coverages.

Kind of when you label a command economy "democracy"? Not that it matters anymore. What once was optional (no thanks, I can buy my own condoms) is now mandatory.

The government giveth, the government taketh away. Blessed be the name of government!

I would LOVE to see the documentation for your FORCED purchase of condoms.... it is THAT kind of malicious BS that confuses the poor souls who LISTEN to that kind of BS....

Birth control has ALWAYS been contentious with insurance companies..... and if YOUR religion is against it..... DON"T effing DO it....... but why discriminate against EVERYONE else because YOUR religion predicates against??????

If all of you are SO fired up against socialism (command economy)..... are you ready to opt out of public highways.......public schools.......public Fire/Police Dept.........libraries.......sheesh the list goes ON AND ON........sign up to STOP using all of the ALREADY socialist stuff..... and THEN whine about the NEW stuff.....

The needs of the many OUTWEIGHS the needs of the few........

Would you have the states STILL in charge of the freedom of non-whites?????

Would you have the DAIRY industry still in charge of milk even after they killed/sickened 1000s of children?????

Would you have the FOOD industry tell you what is or is not good?????

Stop slurping at the trough of socialism long enough to realize you are ALREADY hooked....

And this is why individual liberty is a thing of the past. This is the basis of communism, and almost an exact quote from Karl Marx. In the past, the "few" haven't faired too well under this doctrine. But maybe it'll be different this time, since human nature has changed so much in the last 100 years

So, I see you've punted on the "Only condition under which children over the age of 18 were allowed.." argument. Probably a good choice on your part.

Where did I say that condom purchasing was mandatory? What I inferred is that contraception coverage (once OPTIONAL, esp under self-funded plans) is now MANDATORY.

Don't take my word for it.

The Affordable Care Act

So just to be clear, I don't care about contraception coverage. I can afford the $9 for birth control pills or $10 for a box of condoms if I want. What I'm opossed to is employers (including private companies) being FORCED to provide coverage.

In the past, it made sense for most group insurances to provide coverage. A pill is cheaper than a pregnancy. Individual plans could decide if they wanted it covered, usually with state "opt out" options. No more.

So individual employers not offering contraception coverage = "discrimination", but FORCING an employer to provide such coverage is......???

Fallacy of the excluded middle. Publicly financed public works does not equal a command economy. That being said, healthcare (or in this case, health insurance) isn't a public work.

But thank you for the strawman. Perhaps a definition of planned/command economy would be in order:

What is Command Economy? definition and meaning

So, my question is: does a central authority determine the demand or price of a police departnment?

Not sure what this has to do with healthcare, but no.

Luckily, Republicans put an end to that.

And you're okay with 100+ year old milk price controls? Look into how the price of raw milk is determined, and get back to me.

Again, I'm not sure what the others have to do with heathcare, price controls, or government mandates for consumers. Is ther some mandate for me to buy mandatory pork bellies that I'm unaware of??

I lol'd at the food industry reference. The government that is taking over healthcare is the same government that tells us that Captain Crunch belongs in the food pyramid under grains, that buying raw milk is illegal, that its ok to spray toxic chemicals all over crops but fines farms that wish to refrain. The nation is fat, diseased, and weak from the government's food policy. But, I'm sure they'll do a better job with health care...

We do have a kick ass military. Guess it depends on who it benefits whether it is a good program or not.

WHAT??? You're not willing to make a few personal sacrifices for the Greater Good™??

(PS, if you would join a more equal workers union, Sec. 1251(d) of the ACA grants you an exemption from grandfathering requirements. ETA, some multinational corporations are also exempt. Na zdorovie!)

Hey, man, that sucks!
Now your new policy will have Maternity benefits, which is another non-needed cost for many of use, but forced on us by OSAMA.
Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of the end for us!

I seen the LIAR on television. He continues on with his arrogates, and will take no responsibility for the Insurance Policies being canceled, buy rather blames the Insurance Industry.
At least he continues to be consistent with the fact that, when something goes wrong, then somebody else caused it, but when it goes right, then thank me OSAMA, because I did it! If you notice the word WE, is not in his vocabulary!
Our Country really should be ashamed of ourselves, for voting in, and then realecting such a LIAR AND A FLAKE!

The latest on the OBAMA HEALTH CARE," OBAMADONTCARE" scandal.

Well, he is now telling us that, if you can't get on the WEBSITE, then just get on the Telephone and call, because we have Representatives available to answer your questions, and what's so difficult about that!
So when you call in, do you get a hold of a representative, yes you do. But the issue is still the same, because the Representative needs the WEBSITE to answers your questions, and guess what, It's not even available to the Representatives, WHAT A JOKE..............

Rest assured, Old Dogger, as soon as President "I didn't know about it!" finds out who is behind the ACA website debacle, Operation Fast & Furious, the NSA spying on citizens and foreign heads of state, the DOJ wiretapping the Associated Press, or the IRS targeting political enemies, he is going to send an NPS SWAT team to fix their wagon!

Ditto- I'm in your camp........but.... your third statement is incorrect. In his statement he employs one of the oldest marketing tricks on the books. He actually uses the terms "up to" which is used by just about every infomercial or ad on TV. They all say " up to". Next time you listen to the moron talk he'll say "Your premiums may be reduced by up to $2500 or you could save up to $2500 on your premiums. I've heard a couple of different variations of the statement but always uses "up to". Obama Bin Lyin.
