Setup: I have two sets of key, my carkeys and work keys. Work keys are always hung on my hip because of two skeleton keys for locomotives (yes, they still use skeleton keys on them). Getting out of the Jeep (doors off) at Home one day when the Neighbors were all out chatting across the street. Started to walk away and got jerked back against the Jeep, lost my footing and almost ended up almost loosing my pants. Those two skeleton keys got hooked on the rocker when I got out. I must have looked like a drunk monkey.

not me but a buddy of mine kinda did the same thing with a P/U he had. he had backed up to his parents house shut it off got out did what he was there to do came back out started his rig, hit the clutch and gas....and...Backed right into his parents living room , now that was a funny sight. I drove over there faster than I care to admit just to see it. I took pic's and still give him shit about driving.

got a new CB for the Jamboree, installed it in the parking lot. The next morning, the trails started for the hills and my group stopped. So we get out and stand around while the trail guides are going up and down the line looking at the jeeps. Pops and I just figured they were doing a last minute safety check or something...when they got to us, we asked them what was up, and they answered "somebody has their mike keyed, and we cannot communicate", I look inside my TJ, and there it was, wedged into the cupholder! What a noob!

Let me start out by saying that I hadn't driven an automatic before this happened so I didn't know.
Skeeter used to have an old automatic Chevy van. I needed to get some stuff from the hardware store that wouldn't fit in the YJ so I took the van. I get my stuff and try to start the van. Nothing. After trying different things, I figured the battery was dead. Just then an elderly couple come by and the gentleman offers to jump start the van. We get all hooked up but it still won't start and can't figure it out. He looks in the window, rolls his eyes and says, "it has to be in park." I sheepishly put it into park and, of course, it started right up. He just shook his head and walked away. I was so embarrassed I never drove that van again. Well, and Skeeter sold it shortly after that too, but still...

one time i inadvertantly had my starter key wire ripped off while wheeling. instead of fixing the original wire, i just put in a push button starter. thing is, you hafta turn the key on and then hit the starter. about 10 times after i put it in, id hop in the jeep, crank and crank and crank, then remember to turn the key on.....then start it up. LOL

I was rewiring all the accessories through a aux fuse block when I found a switch under the steering column in a bundle of wires. after operating it once or twice and trying things figured out it was a kill switch. Previous owner failed to mention that one.......Could have been real fun had something gotten bounced a little too hard........ We have since permanently mounted a fresh switch to a solid surface.
