ok ok, it's not a jeep.....

but I'm pretty stoked at how it turned out...

And yes, I know it's backwards. It has to be to stamp into the mugs the correct way.

The dark areas are actually ink from my printer. I print out what I want to carve in clay and with a little water it transfers. Thanks Mike, it was a great idea.

Hahahaha, the stamps are still wet. I have to get them finished and dry and fired. I figure they'll be done in a couple weeks (new mugs that is). I've got two stamps carved and three more to go. This time though I just chose cool flex pictures and didn't worry about which was what.

But, any of you who want to post more flex pictures.... I have no CJ flex pictures or JK (though I'm going to look tonight).

Outstanding!!!! I love the action shots of the Jeeps. Are you planning on doing the other branches of the military? I have a buddy retiring from the Navy this fall.

That EGA will be awesome once you start impressions on the mugs

I think I will have to dip into my wheel savings for one

BTW...can the mugs support two impressions? EX. EGA and Jeep on same mug.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm planning on hitting all the branches of the military. I'm a little OCD about finishing sets, so I won't be happy until they're all done. But the jeeps are first right now. I have four or five more to do. Then I'll find the right line art for the next military emblems and finish up the set.

By the way, I need a good clear picture of a CJ in flex if anyone has one. Needs to be from the front or slightly to the side. I've been going through all the shots here and none are quite right.

Actually, you guys in the military could help me out here. There seems to be more than one emblem for some of the branches and I'm not sure which are the official symbols.

If you could post up the official emblems of the remaining branches I would appreciate it.

Bob - the mugs have the same impression both sides usually, but I can do whatever I want or whatever is requested. Mike requested ranks on the back of the Marine mugs, but I'm still hoping he comes through with a touch better line art for me to copy... Mike?

tiny, on the service mugs i can see that you would be limited only by your imagination on what to put on the reverse side.

For instance my dad was in Korea. The reverse could be an outline of the country, 1950-1953 and his unit particulars.

Of course that could lead to lots of special order items and fab time.

Anyway the mugs look great in the pics you have on wingnut.

again, good work

Ask and ye shall receive!

Here is the current "Commercial" Army logo.

Next we have one of the "Official" ones...The one thats on most recruiting stations.

And another more traditional logos.

Looks like the last two would be a challenge to carve into a stamp. But I personally would like the first one on a mug.

Hey Chris, try this.

I'm sure you can work to make it less elaborate, like just do the items in the center and write US Army above or below it.
I wish I could see the other images in this thread, my work computer doesn't recognize photobucket and other photo sites.

Mugs look good tiny. I have over 10 male friends in the USMC and if all goes well, I will hopefully be buying 10 mugs sometime in the future. Lets just pray I am not buying less than that

BTW, does the YJ stamp have coil springs? I think I see some coils in that stamp there tiny....

Very Nice, Chris!!!!!!! You just keep on getting more creative. I recognized that YJ stamp, right off the bat, very nice replica. Of course the other stamps are just as great. I would almost bet on that TJ, being a Scout mobile.........

Okay, now I'm home and I can see all of the images. All of the army images shown are standard. No difference in enlisted or officer here. The flexing TJ is awesome Chris, as usual.
