Opinions on this motorcycle!

So I've been riding for about four years now, 3 of them my motorcycle was my only means of transportation. I started slow on a Ninja 250, and then rode the next two and a half years on an Suzuki SV650S. Last summer I noticed my driving was getting pretty reckless, and I was always one for safety first, so in my best interest, I sold my motorcycle off and bought a Jeep!

Anyways, gas prices are shooting up, and I'm looking for a little daily rider to get to work during the spring/summer, and I've fallen for the Yamaha Maxim 550's. I've found one I like, but it's two hours away, and before I went to look at it, I wanted to see what some people with experience in the matter think (or no experience!) It's an older bike, so I don't expect it to not have any problems, but I don't know much about the model, or it's reputation. The reason I'm looking at these older models, is because I don't have a ton of cash to spend at the moment, and I don't mind learning a little fix it here and there, or getting dirty to take care of it, hell, my Jeep's teaching me that as well!

For the money and still have a great bike, look for a Suzuki Boulevard. 800CC and 48-50 MPG. Great ride and good looking. I have had three of them.

i have a kawi z750s, you might want to check them out. there is not a bike made that will keep you from being reckless. might be better off with a vw gulf tdi.
