Own jeep but cant fix it up...

Who else on here has a Jeep and just looks at everybody else's creativity and $ they put into these awesome machines and just gets plain depressed because you don't have any means to pay for anything. If you're like me you're struggling to even keep the thing on the road. Anybody out there with me?

If that's your's in your Avatar, it looks pretty good. A search on this forum will result in lots of little cheap things you can do that make a big difference. Like a $10 can of VHT to tint those front signal lights... cheap and easy.

We all start somewhere and it takes some of us longer than others to get there.....budgets help...schooling helps and patience help......I have wanted a Jeep since the '70s...drove them in the Army in the '80s...bought one in the nineties....had to trade it for the family.....bought another in '04 and had to pay for it before I could MOD it.....now here I am 50+ and '04 is "almost done" (yeah right) and also have a '12 JK..that is almost 40 years of the Jeep "BUG" patience and planning will go a LONG way!!

DO "cheap easy Jeep mods" they make ya feel better

I am going slow, starting with small things like the others say, I am doing cheap easy mods. And budgeting my money and saving up for the bigger things (Just bought my 2.5" Lift, so at least 3 months until I get my tires)

Just like you. I look at some beautiful Jeeps on this forum, but do not have the money to make mine that way as of yet. I guess my only plans are to try to get some nice wheels and tires and a few little fix ups. I found a set of Dick Cepeck wheels that I really liked and could have got them with some trading, but they were 10" wide and several long time Jeep forum members said to stay away from that size wheel. I took their advise so will be waiting a little longer. I was lucky in the fact that I found my Jeep at a great price and it came with a new soft top also. Hardtop was already on it. I really enjoy the Jeep though and it is a lot of fun, so I don't mind waiting someday to fix it up a little. Can't afford to go off roading due to this being my daily driver, so don't think I'll ever do a lift. The blue Jeep was my first, but needed a lot of work like rebuilding trans and new soft top. It was a 92'. I liked the blue. I sold it and was able to buy my 03'. Jeeps are so much fun.
There are a lot of mods you can do that can help the looks of the Jeep. The first one I done was to clean and paint my fender flares with black fushion spray paint. Wow! It really improved the looks. The picture is when I first got my Jeep so it doesn't show. Base speaker was blown also so I kept researching the forum and read how to replace it. I went to the junk yard and found a Bose door stereo speaker in an older model Cadillac for $5. I installed it and the sound is sooooo much better although it is still stock. At least now I can turn the base up.
This is a great place to get advise and see some cool Jeeps. Keep enjoying your Jeep and be patient and wise on what you do to it. Learn from these Jeep friends on the forum. Good luck!

I've owned my Jeep for a couple of months and have already spent nearly $2000 on mods, but someone on here accused it of being "stock". >:^( At least yours already has the lift and tires that apparently aren't noticeable on mine. lol
