P!$$@d off

When someone says they're going to sell you a soft top and then they renege on the deal! Agreed on price and date of pickup...annonying.

I hear ya, its worse when your shopping for a jeep tho in the same context... And you already sold your original wheels to make up for the rig that you thought you were about to buy... :/

When someone says they will sell you their 430N and they send an email that says they are selling it to a friend that is now interested. Which means no backup camera for wife and increased risk for my new Jeep!

Can anyone be trusted at their word anymore?!

Unfortunately, the internet is not the best way to do a personal deal sometimes. I find face to face the only way to work out something.

What's unfortunate is we talked on the phone. Also have the email trail confirming he would sell the 430N to me.

Fortunately I can trust my Jeep more than people like that, just wish people would be responsible to their word!

So true, especially when all you have is your word to go on.

They had a saying back in "32"........
You're only as good as your word and your word is only as good as your actions.

And way back when, a handshake meant you were good for whatever you were shaking hands on. These days, not so much! These days I'd say that someone would shake your hand only so they could get close enough to stab you.

Do I sound a little pessimistic? Maybe... I have just learned over the years to take it very slow in trusting people.

At least you did not pay for your soft top before you got stiffed.
2X's know I have been screwed recently on the JK-forum once for an AEV 2" lift kit. I pay paled the guy and he never sent the lift. PP did come thru and refunded my money, but it took a while of his game playing and story changing but PP came thru in the end. And now I think i got scammed again on some rear coil spacers as It has been over 2 weeks and the person said he has been busy so late getting them out so we will see. I have bought $1000's dollars worth of parts on harley forums and never once got stiffed and first 2 purchases from private parties on jeep forums and I get screwed. I will never again buy from any jeep private classified ads again.

Went to pick up softtop in the pouring rain....guy doesn't have all the pieces. Offer a guy CASH for his wheels/tires he has FOR SALE on craigslist and the guy drags his feet and is not sure if he wants to sell them and then I'd have to wait for 2 weeks while he ordered new wheels/tires and wouldn't budge on price. People on Craigslist have been pissing me off. Me on the other hand when you buy something from me it's exactly as stated and it's actually for sale when I post it for sale unlike the d*^% head with the tires.

Like a lot of You, My Father and Grandfathers taught Me the meaning of "keeping Your word". I have instilled this in My Son. Your integrity is priceless. This might sound like a cliche, but If A Man (or Woman) can't be trusted with a handshake, He has nothing. This will NEVER go out of style!!
