Well yes, I am a pirate - 200 years too late.

Became a parrot head in college, way back in 1981. My buddies and I spent the better part of a rainy afternoon on spring break in Daytona Beach holed up in our hotel room with a couple cases of beer and "You Had To Be There (Live)" on 8 track. I was hooked from that point forward. In true parrot head fashion, I met the woman I would eventually marry at a Jimmy Buffett show in Atlanta. I had a stuffed parrot on my shoulder, and she thought I was weird but went out with me anyway. We've been together for 24 years.

Senior Chief, it's a reference to the title cut off Jimmy's "Fruitcakes" album from back in the mid 90s. "There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us"

I was lucky enough to see JB on Saturday night, Feb 7 1987 when he came to Australia.
He came down under to watch the Americas Cup boat race and did one concert when he was here - the show was a sell-out with seats being sold behind the stage as well.
We queued for tickets overnight and got seats in front of the stage (14th row)

Saw him in '99 in Atlanta @ Lakewood, we bought 4 counterfeit tickets from a scalper and only I got caught. That's the day I learned to buy from a scalper, go to the entrance gate, turn around, and walk to the first guy. The further you go, the more you pay and the more likely it is to be fake. Of course, that is mostly moot now. But I didn't really like him before that show.

Also I got to meet him briefly a couple years ago working for LiveNation. He is shorter than I figured, but seems like a nice guy.

Went to his sisters place last summer in Ala. Lulu's is a blast, great food and fun. As luck would have it he was there the weekend before.

Have never been able to see him in concert. There is a pretty good tribute band that comes around pretty often. Changes in Lattitude as close as I've gotten. Love the music though.

My first JB show was April of last year. Torrential rain and tornados were predicted my now wife and a good friend and I spent the time "tailgating" in our van. We took our honeymoon in Vegas and saw him last fall. Planning a return trip hopefully soon to see him again!

Been to LuLu's on the ICW in Gulf Shores several times. Haven't seen him yet though. I'm developing a fondness for the music especially since we have friends that keep getting us to go to the FL Keys with them.

Actually listening to my Jimmy Buffett station on Pandora right now. Buffett, Marley, and ZBB make for a relaxing station!

I've been a Parrothead since 99. I've been to about 13 shows and some damn good tailgates.
My first show was West Palm in 99. I rode down to it with my buddy in his Jeep.
The next morning, on a whim we drove all the way to Key West, no top, no doors.
I've been a major Parrothead ever since and I bought my own Jeep shortly thereafter.
I call my Jeep the Hemisphere Wrangler.
I love all things tropical and listen to all kinds of Trop Rock (that's similar artists) since getting into Buffett's music. Hell, I'm on vacation in Cudjoe Key right now. Headed down to Captain Tony's for a few cold ones manana as a matter of fact. I've been posting on the BuffettNews.com message board for over 13 years. Bubba is the reason I started playing guitar and mess around with the steel pan.
I recorded my first trop rock song just over a week ago in St. Augustine.
Too far gone, I know...and I'd have it no other way.

Would one of you mind explaining to me what the hell a parrot head is? I know it has something to do with Jimmy Buffet, and I'm not a fan, but I really don't know what the parrot head thing is all about.

I've been to 9 shows including a show in Tampa on a Tuesday, Wednesday he showed up at Margaritaville in Orlando with Mac while we were there and then saw the Thursday show in Orlando many years ago. What a great three days!! Travelled with some friends I've made in the local Parrothead Club

My collection of Hawaiian shirts seem to fit nicely with my jeep ;-)
