Pat Green Fans!

Who on this Forum is a Pat Green fan?

Last night I was poking around on the www.patgreen.com website and I saw that he will be playing in my back yard in June.

Well; not exactly in my backyard...but about 6 miles from my house.

Pat will be at “Floore’s Country Store” on Saturday June 24th.

I'll bet this is the will be the 12th time I have seen him play at this Venue.

If you are a fan of American Music and or Pat Green you might want to make a road trip for this show.

Floors Country store is a wonderful venue for Live TEXAS Music much better than seeing Pat in a major club or theater. I'm a nut for music in historic dance halls like Floore’s.

I plan to be there with my 14 year Daughter; I always take her there for Pat Green’s shows. Sure hope to see a few of my Jeepin’ buddies there too.

See my Pat Green Sticker's???

Rek?

Where is REK playing in July?

I met hime a few years ago in Galviston at a TADA when they had it at Moody Gardens.

Like you I like old School Pat Green a lot more and he still plays a lot of it at his shows.

I'll bet you I have been to at least 50 PG shows over the years.

I prefer listening to him in Dance Halls like: Floore's, Gruene Hall, River Road Ice House, and Billy Bob's in Fort Worth.

We saw him when he did his Guys Like me... five city tour; in Gruene and Frederickburg twice in the same week.

The only place I have never seen him play that I'd like to someday is George's Bar....

I have been to the JI show once...Never again; Too Hot, and I cool off with too much beer.

I've never seen Cooder Graw there but I've seen them everytime they play the River Road Ice House, Sanger Hall & Gruene Hall in New Braunfels...

You and I will have to hook for a show some time; perhaps at REK if I don't go the the club run at the YO Ranch that weekend. .

Texas Music

All this talk about REK and Pat Green got me thinking about my favorite radio station out of Victoria, 98.7 Texas Mix. Not only did spend weekends listening to Pat Green and REK but I was introduced to musicians the likes of Bleu Edmondson, Gary P. Nunn, Slaid Cleaves, Cory Morrow, Joe Ely, Larry Joe Taylor and many others that do not get a lot air time on most stations.

I just decided to look at their website, www.texasmix.com, to see what I've been missing the last couple of years. I was shock to discover that Steve Coffman had recently past away. Steve’s radio show ,"Coffee with Coffman", will be missed by a lot of folks in that area.

For me...

The thing I like about Texas Musioc is it's honesty and rawness.

I just don't think other styles of music offer that wiht out faking it.

Is it just me?
