Picked up a new toy the other day......

It's not much, just a Mossberg 500 12 gauge. I got a good deal on it from a local gunshop I shoot for. It's a 18 1/2 inch barrel. If I'd gotten the 20" barrel, I could have had the 8 shot magazine, but this one's only got the 6 shot mag. Not a big deal. It's more for fun than for anything else. It came in a watertight tube that's set up for a survival kit that also came included with the shottie. It's just a basic survival kit, but there's room inside to supplement my own essentials. Pretty cool stuff, really, for the price.

An old Remington 12ga. that I got from my grandfather when he died. I'm not sure of the model number. Its packed with the plethora of crap in my closet.

I never have time to take it to the range anymore.

Cool gun! From what I've read on the forum here the shotgun is the BEST self defense weapon.

A sawed off side-by-side shottie is the best

Hands down. Even just the sound of a racking shottie is enough to deter most wannabe thugs.

speaking of guns, my grandfather just dropped me off a new toy to play with. One of his hunting buddies passed away a little while back and he gave me the guys 30ought06.
Has a nice scope on it to.
Gonna have to go to the range soon!

I'm interested in the original stock if you still have it. We used 500s in Afghanistan for crowd control when on combat patrols. The locals weren't too scared of the big crew-serves, but if you put a shotgun in their faces, they got the hell out of Dodge in a hurry!

I noticed they were deathly afraid of the M-9 not the M-4, it made no sense to me.... strange. Send me a pm. I still have a pistol grip with hardware if anyone else wants.

Since it came with a pistol grip, you can do the NFA registration thing on it for $5 and cut that bitch down (called an "Any Other Weapon"). Go over to AR15.com and look under the class 3 stuff and they'll walk you right through it. Nice as-is, but it would make an awesome boomstick. NFA stuff is easy to do and AOWs are cheap compared to short barreled shotguns or rifles.

"OK, primitives. This is my BOOMSTICK!"
