The parodies are all so stupid because the song is so catchy as it is and sounds just straight stupid with any other vocal tone on it. It's a huge step in cultural an ethnic differences to think a song with only I believe 5 English words in it being number 1 I'm the USA which is full of superstars and home really of most global popular music. It's a huge success and its cool to see someone from anothe country and ethnic background make such a difference in this country just by singing a few words. In this day and age, he is basically what the Beatles were back then due to the fact that YouTube is the largest market of music videos in the world meaning his video in a few months out has the most views of any video on a site that's been up for many years. It's just crazy to see this kinda influence by one song that is only 3 minutes long and if you say otherwise you are talking out of ignorance because it is plain and simple

So you believe this song has shown no cultural exploration by the United States at all? That a song completely in Chinese is number 1 in the big bad USA is normal?

What I am saying is I don't see how a one hit wonder with a not so appealing past can be compared to the "Beatles". Nor do I see any significant value to the song in the least. As far as popularity is concerned, "Achy Breaky Heart" made a pretty big splash on the "Pop Charts" internationally back in the early 90's. I consider the source...

BTW, Coining the term "Ignorance" and phrases such as "the big bad USA" on a public forum in my opinion are nothing more than weak attempts to "Stir the Pot" so to speak. PSY is a "Pot Stirrer". There in lies my issue with the so called "artist".

No. But if you're going to make a whole post regarding cultural importance, then you should at least get the culture right.

How are they all the same? The three major languages all stemmed from different linguistic families and all of their cultures are wildly different.

I know what you're saying. The Beatles lyrics actually have a meaning. They are deep and have good musical qualities. The song gangnam style is just electronic crap.

yeah much like the Macarena.....oh wait everyone remembers that one. electric slide....nope that one too.

it's catchy and will be played at weddings for years to come.

as far as the slams or jabs on the Asians it simply shows your ignorance. hold yourself to a higher standard and have some class.

relax there tough guy, i wasn't accusing YOU of taking jabs i quoted your post and responded with the first portion of my post. then a break showing a separate thought. the rest of it was directed at the people who were taking jabs. if you were offended thinking it was directed at you then you mistook my post.

I'm not worked up, but I find it flattering you think I'm a "tough guy."

Since it was a break in a separate thought, why not quote both posts?

...But hey, at least I got to flaunt my abundance of masculine fortitude!

mainly because I didn't want to quote all the post , I figured if i put a break in there that it would suffice as a separate thought. furthermore I didn't call anyone ignorant I said it shows their ignorance on the topic. meaning they are not informed on the specific topic being addressed and in no way implies they are ignorant overall.

So much ignorance in this thread, what is this forum coming too.

Keep your opinions to yourself, especially the inflammatory, insulting, racist ones.

Stop arguing over the littlest things.

This song isn't culturally relevant at all. Not my culture.

My gang and I stared a new song and dance called GangBang style. Unfortunately we were promptly arrested. The female participant wasn't too happy either.
