Prk....lasik

Anyone here have either of the two done. I had a consultaion last friday and I setup my appointments for pre-op, surgery, and post-op. I'm having PRk done. they said it was reccomended becaue of the shape of my corneas.
I cant friggin wait for august 20, will be the last day of glasses and contacts.

Bring all your shoes and glasses with you, so you have them.

I had PRK surgery done. And I just had another eye exam last week. I'm at 20/15 and holding. I was at 20/40 just seconds after they did the surgery, and 20/20 by the follow-up a week later. It's nothing to worry about, they just plug some figures into the computer and the program does the actual lasering of your eyes. Hold your breath, though......you can smell your eye burning when they do it. Other than that, good luck!! I am extremely happy with the results of the surgery. Granted, my prescription wasn't very bad to begin with, but most people who have the surgery are able to achieve 20/20 vision, or very close to it.

Oops. Forgot one last thing. Make sure you take all your meds on the schedule they give you. They'll make sure to drill that into your brain, but just remember to take them EXACTLY as prescribed and you'll be good. At first you'll be on a bunch of meds (eye drops), but they'll taper off over the next couple of months. The FML is the worst, you can taste it after you put it in your eyes, and it's the one you have to take for 2 months!! You'll get used to it....

Yeah, it was kind of funny. The surgeon's assistant tried to tell me that it was the smell of the laser. I told her I've smelled enough burning flesh to last me a lifetime and I'm quite aware of its smell. She shut up after that.
