Prometheus stole fire from the gods...

and hid it in my bowl.

I have a really handy metal bowl that I use for all sorts of things. Most recently, I used it to wash the gravel for the terrarium I made. I set the bowl, with gravel, in the sun, to dry. I was also using a dishtowel to dry things off. Long story short, I left the dishtowel in the metal bowl, out in the sun. I went to the store and when I came back, there was all kinds of smoke billowing around the back porch. I went running out to find my dishtowel on fire.

I knew that you could start a fire with a magnifying glass, but a metal bowl? Who knew?

My handy-dandy bowl/ fire starter...

My poor abused dishtowel...

My mom has had a whole set of those in varying sizes since I could remember. I grew up and learned how to cook with those type of metal bowls. We have used them for everything!
