Putting names with faces (Pomona '08)

tiny and I arrived at the Pomona Fairplex this morning for the Off-Road Expo and I was totally astonished at what I saw when we went through the gate. Kick ass 4X4's and Beer Stands as far as the eye could see. Hell, we weren't sure if I would be allowed to smoke inside the gates let alone have a nice cold one. Hell, I thought I had died because if there is a heaven it HAS to look just like that!

So, with mouth gaped open and head spinning like a child at Toys-R-Us, we moseyed over to where Jack (1BLKJP) and Joe (Absolute Offroad) were. Booth #105 was all decked out with JK's and a TJ, a plastic rock and one very short bar stool.

Jack and Joe are way nicer in person than on the board. I think it was just because they knew that a computer didn't separate them from tiny terror and an ass whoopin could break out at any minute!

No, all jokes aside, these guys are great and it was awesome to be able to put names with the faces. Thanks guys for the laughs and tee-shirts. And Joe, even as we speak, tiny is polishing off that bag of cotton candy and sing "Joe can't have none"!

Here's some pics:

Joe was straining to view things at tiny's level

That's Joe's rig. I'm not sure what's in it, but that thing was smoking cool and drew quite a crowd when he was revving it up.

We didn't get pictures Sorry. We were so mouth hanging open having fun that we didn't even think to. Cain got one hell of a deal on a swing away and a back bumper, there were deals everywhere.

Jack and Joe looked exactly as their pictures.... except Joe is freaking TALL. And they were a blast to talk to (I started to feel guilty we were keeping them from working).

There were so many cool things there!!! Man, the cages, and suspensions, and campers, and cotton candy....

Sorry haven't been able to get any pics of the fun stuff except our own. We've been slammed in the RK booth all week. Getting a lot of traffic.

And yes that is a supercharger from RIPP Superchargers that Joe has on his JK. Both JK's at the RK/Pure Performance booth have RIPP SC's on them. As Chris and Tiny said it adds a bit of extra fun to the day when we rip it off every once in awhile. That is of course until the boys across from us at Full Potential Offroad fire up their 1100 HP Big Block they have in one of their Unlimited Desert Trucks. That pretty much owns all.

It was definitely great getting to meet both Tiny and Chris today. Tiny got her WF performance evaluation out of the way, don't worry I'll be getting around to the rest of the mods as soon as a show is in your area. I have to apologize to both of you however for having to bounce out of the booth for a bit.

Here are a few pics taken off of our phones over the last couple days. Joe and I were kind of bored on Thursday when we noticed someone mistakenly left the starting gate open on the NHRA track at Pomona so we took the JK down. The ladies were also kind enough to take a photo today in front of the JK. The last well hell who can't appreciate any thing with 46" Baja Claws.

The show was way cool! A little rain, but not too bad. I had no budget for mods this year ..boo hoo.. but enjoyed checking out the rigs.

that ripp sc is nice, however i still wonder if the bov will be enough to allow all the air to escape. Did they end up making an affordable 4.0 sc yet?

It's more than enough, plus with this setup it is constantly blowing of depending on the amount of boost it's making. Plus there is a chance they might make a small change that would redirect the bov into the intake. The owner of RIPP was out here at the show with us and has all of the electronics in place to do a 4.0, but is really still trying to decide if they are going to produce it or not. There are a lot of different issues between the 97-99 and the 00-06 versions of the TJ. He did hear from quite a few folks this weekend that they'd like to see the 4.0 version out there.

I'd like to see it too but making it affordable would be great. I mean think about it, Kenne bell makes a twin screw sc for 4k while Ripp wants 38xx for theirs. The centrifugal sc setup they sell is a toy compared to the twin screw Kenne bell makes.
