yes, you will have bad days even on meds. The severity of those bad days is what will vary. A good way to lesson things is to start a gluten free diet.
My fiancée has lymes for the past 7 or so years, going gluten free had been the biggest improvement.
if you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.

Thanks a lot.The scary part is my reg doctor didnt even diag me correctly. We suggested I get checked for a tick bite/lyme since we recently bought a house in the country but she didnt think it was necessary to test me.She sent me to a gastro doctor,2 wks later & he figured it out.Unreal.

I am very sorry to hear about your condition... If your doctor is telling you that you WILL NOT have flare ups, then I suggest you find a specialist who knows a little more about the disease.
My very best friend was diagnosed 4 years ago and she has spent a good bit of time in the hospital because of "flare ups". She currently has a port installed in her chest because she is needing medication so frequently. She has seen some of the best specialists in the world, and they have all struggled to keep her healthy.
Two things I can tell you that help her. SUN and lots of it. She does much better in the summers (she lives in Chicago) and in the winter she hits the tanning salon when she is healthy enough. And stay away from people who are sick. Your immune system can VERY easily be destroyed, and even the slightest infection can became serious very quickly.
If you want to be put in contact with her, she is as close to an expert as a person can be without years of medical school and lab experience.

If you have pets make sure they have vaccines and the drops that go on their skin...my Husky got it as a pup and it sucked for him! Had seizure, etc took a month for vet to figure out what it was...
You can also get an insecticide that you put on your lawn to kill the little bastards!
Hope you get better!

Hope all goes well for you. Just had to comment on your dog choices, Doxies and shepherds actually go well together considering their size difference. This is my doxie's second GSD, his first died back on '07. He adopted this one earlier this year. Anyway, hope your able to deal with the Lyme okay.
Chris

I've had lyme disease and anaplasmosis from Deer Ticks--live in southern Wisconsin--picked 120 off me and two dogs in one day. Generally (not 100% of the time), if you get it early and stay on the meds for the whole course, even if you feel better, you don't get flareups. It's gone. If you miss it at first, and wait maybe a month or more before getting on it, it can be nasty and various symptoms may linger.
Go to REI or a good sporting goods store and buy permethrin in a pump spray bottle. Spray your clothes (especially trousers) and boots. Let it dry. Kills ticks for +/- six washings. When I spray I get no ticks. When I wear trousers and boots that haven't been sprayed, I often find them dug in by evening.
It takes a day or so for the tick to transmit the disease, but if you get the big circles around the bite or if you get sick and the bite location looks bad, call the doctor asap. Good doctors that know the disease don't screw around--they put you on the meds over the phone because the tests aren't reliable and the risk of missing the diagnosis is high (see above).

The type of ticks that transmit Lymes Disease are Deer Ticks. There is a lot of information on the Internet, just do a Google search. The severity of the disease can depend on how soon after infection you were diagnosed.

Yep, nice little town. I would love to eventually move into the historic district in one of the old houses but Charleston is spreading out so Summerville is growing faster than the roads and property values in the nicer areas are moving on up. Sadly, another decade and the small-town feel will be gone.
