Question about selling a vehicle.

I may be selling a vehicle in the next month or so. I plan to advertise on Craigslist/For Sale Sign/Ebay. Now, i still owe on my loan from the bank. Due to my situation, I am not looking to earn a profit, just to pay the loan off completely and be done with it.

I understand the process involved - but I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions or personal experiences with this.

yup my adds are harsh but everything i put on e-bay or CL sells. and it weeds out all the low ballers.

When you find a buyer, complete the sale at YOUR bank. That way all paperwork can be completed in a timely manner. You walk away with a clear loan and they drive away with a title in hand.

Yea, make sure the buyer is aware that you have a lien on the title and you'll both need to go to the bank to get it clear and free. I don't know NY, but most banks have a notary so that could be a benefit as well.

In case you haven't already done it, check with the bank you pay the loan to and make sure there is no early payoff penalty. If there is I'd add that to the sale price if all you want to do is break even.

Yea I read about that, seems better then trying to do it as a middleman so to speak.

No early payoff, but I contacted them about getting a 30day payoff quote.
