Racing with the kids

Attachment 2408

Zippo Sponsored the U.S. Vintage Garnd Prix last week at Watkins Glen and we had the chance to take our personal vehicles for a couple of laps around the track. Who could pass up the chance to drive a minivan on a world class race track. Me being a little more aggressive than I should have been cooked my brakes about half way through lap two. I was coming out of the esses into a big right hander and my brakes just didn't want to grab anymore. After all they were only three days old...had to break them in. The kids had a good time, but my oldest was a little disapointed that we couldn't go any faster. The wife wouldn't let me pass the focus in front of us.

Then I got to go for a ride with the President of Zippo in one of his Ford GT's. It was really raining at this point and we couldn't get over 60MPH, but it was still a good day.

That's pretty bad ass DJ. Looks like a helluva day. Would've been cool as hell to put my Jeep out there.
