Its an undersized spare though, if you run different size tires on the same axle you'll destroy your differential because the tires are spinning at different speeds.

Not sure if that's correct but im like 90%

I would say that is a 35 with a broken axle. Putting the spare on would do no good.

so what you put it in 4x4 and pray it's a short trip? Why couldn't he do the spare unless the wheel/hub broke? That's what's wrong wit my cj it sheared off at the hub

the axle shaft broke. if you look close, you can see the drum is tied up, holding it in the axle. if he put a tire on there, it would just fall off and do more damage.

Correct, the axle will slide out,or he snapped it at the hub.

When your axle brakes it can slide out whenever it feels like it so you would end up stopping to pick up you tire and whatevers left of the axle. Also not real good to have moving broken parts.
To be safe . . . er I would disconnect the rear drive shaft too

I have no idea what all is wrong with my rear axle. Who knows. It will be awhile till that money tree I planted bares fruit

lets hope it bares money . not fruit. I once paid 450$ for a rare money tree from guatemala. and all it did was grow small bananas
