red lobster rant.....

took the BH out for her birthday dinner sunday afternoon. i had a applebees gift card i was going to use, but they were crazy busy. so we went to red lobester instead. wanted a nice dinner. money no object. the meal(s) were top notch. i wanted some beers with my meal, so i know bottles are expensive, so went with coors light drafts. got the bill and looked it over. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THE DRAFTS WERE $3.99 EACH!

wow. to me thats way outta line. i joked and told her "if i had a another one i could have had a CASE of busch bottles"

we both laughed.

I would say that's at least average. Of course not counting happy hours, specials, or PBR.

in this area, drafts are never more than $2.75. less during happy hours, etc. no, that was just greed on RL part.

here is a local bar pricing...

Those prices are for specials. Certain beers on certain days. Not exactly same situation. And bars are almost always cheaper than restaurants.

Good thing you didn't get a jack and coke... those things usually start at $6... although usually for $0.50 more you could get a makers mark and coke...

Sounds about fair. I think most places are $4-5 or more for a drink. That's pretty average.

+1 more. $4 for a draft is pretty much the going rate that I am aware of.

Especially for a run of the mill chain restaurant like Red Lobster.

I wouldn't either, seafood gives him gas. I've thought of burning our house down with him in it the last time someone gave him seafood.

I was wondering the same. I see above its better half. Nothing close to that came to my mind. I had several choices, but none were nice.
