Ridiculous prices for parts

I have bought and sold many used Jeep parts on here and locally where I live. Currently am searching for Tan carpet for a TJ for a friend and a forum member here offered the front two pieces of carpet for $70 plus shipping. I am disgusted that people like this exist and are willing to take advantage of fellow Jeepers like this. The pic attached is what he was trying to sell me for $70!!! Anybody else think that I am wrong for thinking that he is ripping forum members off if this is the kind of prices he is asking for his parts, in this case molded, dirty carpet?

Somebody putting a gun to your head and telling you to buy? If not, quit complaining! Look, no offense intended but...You got something to sell: you have a right to ask any amount you want. Don't mean anybody has to actually *pay* that! You want it bad enough, you'll pay it. Pretty much end of story. It's not like he's gouging you....I wouldn't buy anybody's used, dirty carpet for any price, anyway...

Oh I completely understand that I don't have to buy it and I won't. Just don't understand people like this and I will complain as I see fit!! Thanks for your outlook on it though!

You know that you can get your money back through paypal right? I have dealt with that in the past as well and it was a non issue.

I will try and figure out how to do that. It might make me feel better to hurt him though.

I just took a look at your shift knobs and WAY COOL!!! Times like this I wish I had a manual. I want a custom shift handle, but have not found what I want for an Automatic yet.

Oh, and if you are still looking for the carpet, I have the whole set in spice out of my 97 TJ Sport. I thought about just holding on to it in case I ever wanted to put it back in, but not sure if it would even work over the Monstaliner I am putting in. It is a lot better shape than the pic you showed, but it does need to be shampooed. The only real problem was when I was taking it out, a 2"x2" piece ripped of from under the passenger side where it was stuck under the seat.

Paypal is very good at getting buyers their money back. I have a story about that where I was the seller. I sold a guy a set of hi flow Cats for a 350z. He and his g/f had a paypal acct that was linked up with her CC. Well they broke up about 3 months after he bought my cats, and she issued a chargeback on the paypal stuff he bought....paypal took the money straight out of my checking acct. Needless to say I was pissed...as he got the product and was pleased with it. I tracked him down on another forum and had a few people local to him track him down. He Western Unioned the money to me to repay my losses. Moral of the story. Don't accept paypal as a seller unless you go through ebay. They won't back you up, at all.

Luckily the guys on that 350z forum were all like brothers, angry angry brothers. LOL
