RIP Dreams.

So, my dreams were killed today. Being a 15 year old, i hate to sound spoiled but i've dreamed of getting a jeep for about forever. When i was a little kid i would be the one to point and say "Mommy look!" and sometimes i wondered why people drove without doors (because i was so little). ive been looking for a jeep for about a year or two just trying to find "the one". I finally found a couple to choose from that were in my parents price range and that's when i received the text. It was from my dad and it said this exactly "Found a great truck today. I think we should buy it. The title will most likely get notarized tomorrow." At this point my heart sank into a hole of sadness after all of the dreaming about jeeps and mods drifted away from reality. So all i have to say is Rest In Peace dreams. You guys have all been great and if this forum is still up in 4-5 years i will definitely be back. The truck is a 2003 f 150 with 113,000 miles. I hate to get rid of my dreams but my dad also said in about 4-5 years he would even help me buy a nice jeep. I dont mean to sound spoiled, but this is my story. Even though ive been on here for a short time FAREWELL. And i hope all goes well for everyone.

Yeah, it's hard to be ungrateful when your parents buy you a car. I wrecked the car my parents bought me when I was 16 - and didn't get another until I could afford to buy it myself.

Don't think of it as the death of your Jeep dream, just a "see you later". And enjoy your truck!

You have plenty of years to fulfill that Jeep dream, it'll work out in the end.

if you have yet to sign on that truck.... I wouldn't until you find out the production date and the engine...Lots of spark plug/head machine issues on the 2000 to 2003's(had some fix's done in 03) but look into it, otherwise you might be sitting a a paper weight.

I wanted a Jeep so bad when I was 18. But the only decent vehicle loan I could get on my own was for a 4-door sedan. So I sucked it up, got the sedan, paid it off over time. Came in handy when I was driving 80 miles RT each day for work. 12 years later and I have the Jeep I have always wanted. Dreams are what life is made of. Dreams get you out of bed every morning. As a society, we want everything "right now," but sometimes, timing is everything.

Solid advice.

OP, go to work. 2k$ isn't as impossible as it seems (and an 03 with 115k aint bad). 2 years and you can buy your own easily.

I rock a 94 with 235k, lol.

The 9/16 sparkplugs or whatever that abnormal size Ford did was is the motor that tends to have trouble with plugs, imagine that.

BTW, go thank your parents for being so generous. That is a very nice thing they did.

Your dreams weren't killed...they were just put on hold. Hug your parents and say thanks. Your a very lucky person to have parents that are financially stable and generous enough to give you a vehicle.

You'll get your jeep...

There is a part of me that hopes that you were being overly dramatic for effect, and that you dont truly feel that your dreams have been shattered.
Sounds to me like your a young kid with alot of things going for you. The fact that you have parents that are even willing to buy you a vehicle says something for you (and them).
You have PLENTY of time to get the Jeep you want. Stay on the right path, keep your parents happy, be a good person and you will have your Jeep in no time at all.
