Seat cover opinions/desires input needed.. :)

Ladies and Gentlemen, you all have seen the seat covers I made for my lovely 'rita. I know that the fabric choices weren't most folks favorite, but they are ok for me. Anyway, I am considering doing this as a business, and would really like some feedback from you all regarding colors, patterns, pricing, etc..

They would be made from machine washable fleece and outdoor fabric or ripstop nylon.

What I want to know is:

1. Color combinations you would like to see available.

2. Patterns you'd prefer for inserts.

3. Interested in both front and rear, or only front, only rear.

4. Desirable price point for each set.

Thank you all for your help. I'd really like to be able to fulfill a need for you all...

First off all I'm a guy and I really like the fabric. When I look at seat covers I keep a few things in mind: Quality, Tight Fit to the seats, and color options. That being said, everybody and their brother has done the black with the "stripe". I think that this makes them not as unique. What i think would be great and make your potential business unique is custom work. I have been looking forever for red camo/ black seat covers. I would make them myself but cant sew. So...
1, Make the color combos what the people want, let them pic a design
2, Front and rear, for sure
3, I dont know how much the cost to make...give us an idea of the cost to make a set of front/rear covers...I hope this helped

All input is helpful. Yes, I'd like to be able to offer as many custom options as possible. I think right now for front and rear it would be about $150+ for front and rear, depending on the fabric choices. They don't shift at all with use, I am very pleased with the fit and wearability of them so far.

For your wishes, red camo is not something that is easy to find... unfortunately. I haven't seen any yet.

Well sign me up as your first customer. What type of fabric does the middle part need to be? Im going to try to find some red camo. I found bull denim, not sure what that is.

I am using outdoor fabric (polyester) for the ones I've made so far. It will hold up to the sun, and water better than cotton. If you can find somewhere that has a ripstop nylon or outdoor fabric that you like, let me know...

I'm glad that you're considering this because I've been looking for seat covers & only one company makes them in Black with a Green insert (center piece) My tj is beryl green and I'd like something close to that. as far as patterns, I like Tribal, Flame or Celtic designs, or a tribal sea turtle (like my "Salt Life" sticker) in the upper shoulder/head area of the seat. Something weather resistant, but still comfortable against bare skin, not vinyl.

You might want to stay away from nylon for the covers. Anything with a lower denure than cordura will not hold up well (colorwise) in the sun. Anything over 300 denure will be too coarse for comfort. Just something to think about.
BTW I LOVE the covers you made for your jeep. You have a lot of talent. I'm jealous.

Thanks for the tip and the compliment JD! When I get up and running, I'd love to make a set for your Jeep! I saw some fabric today that screamed JD at me!

How bad would it fade? The top is only off for about 3-4 months (got to love New England) I dont care if it gets a "washed" look. Anyways, this is what I liked:

Thanks!!!

I'm afraid the red would be pink in very short order... Red's don't like the sun at all. I'll look around for some too. We'll see if we can't find something workable for you

Pacman, this is the best I've found so far to meet your red/black criteria...

And JD, I thought of you with both of these...

TJ newbie, all the fabrics I've found with a green similar to your beryl green have a bunch of tans or browns in them. There is this b/w that would look good in your blk interior..

and this one I love.. But no black....

And this one would work with black alright I think..
