Skeeter

Our Siamese earned her right to stay last night. The mouse is no longer. Go get yourself a mouser from the pound like we did and your problem will be solved.

Just an idea, I'm just sayin...

If you go that route, a sign like this might be wise..

of course, in Skeeters case, this might be the better sign, from a liability standpoint..

Or, if all else fails, call these guys!

Well our dogs are smaller then the cat atm. At least the cat has some brains compared to our idiot dogs. The smartest one is the beagle and she is always on the hunt for rabbits and she seems to only listen to me most of the time.

The other rats we have are cool but useless.

Wait till the cat brings birds into the house, THAT ARE NOT DEAD!!! Happened to us more than once. Nothing like chasing a bleeding, scared bird all over the house trying to get it out. Feathers flying. And the cat just sits over at the side of the room looking amused!!!

That won't happen. She is an indoor cat because we have an eagle nesting in our back yard. Heck I even watch the dogs to make sure they don't become a snack.

Ah the food chain. Aren't you glad we are close to the top of it.

Although the beagle drug a half dead snake in once.

How do you tell if the cat is a good mouser or not?
I've only had one cat that was a good hunter and he was strictly an outdoor cat when we lived out in the country.

Yes but that assumes you've already got the cat. I need to know how you tell while they're still at the pound.
Or do you just eat the ones that don't work out?

If they get hungry they are all good mousers. Don't overfeed them or they just want to play with the mice.

Cat got another one and the beagle got a third (I guess the first mouse had a nest). I should have gone this route when the little bugger stood on the DVD player and taunted me.

At work at the moment. The cat lays the mice at our bedroom door like a trophy. The beagle almost took me off my feet while I was drinking my morning coffee. I think she thought it was her squeeky toy on the loose.

After extensive study, researchers have decided that the cats aren't showing you their catch as a trophy, they're trying to teach you to catch your own dang mice!

You only think that is funny because I almost spilled my coffee. That would have been a disaster for me. I know I just about fell over laughing at her about 2 days ago when she got her head stuck in the fence. She was tracking on scent and ran right into the gate that she got out of a few days before.
