Slippidy Slidey

Well, it started out as freezing rain, to get a good slick base and then we got a half an inch of sleet accumulation last night. I helped two unfortunate souls out of the ditch on the way home last night, and another this morning on the way in.
It's really funny to watch people without a clue drive on the icy roads. We don't get enough of it around here for the city to have removal equipment, so we are all basically on our own to drive on it.

...it aint too funny around here, its idiots who dont have a clue who drive there 4x4 twice as fast as everyone else in an icestorm cuz they think they are king chit, and about 2 or 3 miles down the road you see them ass over teakettle off the highway, sometimes with other cars too because of their carelessness/stupidity...

note to all idiots, just cuz ya got 4x4 doesnt mean you can go fast in bad weather.

sorry dare2bsquare, just had to rant.

its gettin icy around here now too, and there are so many tards out on the roads

"without a clue" describes most all of the driving public.

that sounds like a mildly hateful attitude wouldn't you say dare??? i had a toyota tacoma that did fine in the ice at highway speeds. i mean just mind your ass end and don't let it get too far away and your ok! small imput, nothing over or too fast and your good.

...as long as they don't take someone else out, I'm good with watching the maniacs end up in the ditch.

I guess the major problem concerning folks with 4wd is they think they can go faster because they have better traction, but 4wd doesn't help you stop any quicker than a car with 2wd. So you can cruise at highway speeds in bad weather and be completely fine, until the 2wd car in front of you is going slower than you are and you have to slam on your brakes.

I've had no problems stopping on this ice. The main thing is to drive like you have no brakes. I've slid much more accelerating than stopping.

4wd plus quick down shifter = no problem, if you know how to drive then you fine, i would say most people don't....
