Smokers!

I know that many of us here are as much avid hunters as we are outdoors men and women. That said, I know many of us also love to cook outdoors and on another thread someone said pig and that was enough to get my mind wandering and it went straight to the smoker!

I'm thinking this weekend we might have us some ribs and ABTs (Atomic Buffalo Turds) for dinner!

Rib bones simply slide out of the meat...

ABTs are jalapeno's we split in half and seed...

Stuff with whatever (this one is cream cheese with basil, chives and a wee bit of garlic)...

We then cover them with maple flavored bacon (the cheaper the brand, the better) and smoke over hickory wood for a couple of hours...

When they're done, stand back!

So, whose else is a smoker?

You gotta do the mushroom bombs! Bacon wrapped around a whole mushroom seasoned and cooked, it's like heaven.

I just might do that! After the winter is over we should all get together for a barbecue!

Smoke? Yeah I smoke... This is version 1.0. We just moved to version 1.5 by moving the fire box under the smoker, to provide better heat. Can be run off wood, charcoal, or gas. Has about 12 square feet of cooking space on 2 3x2 shelves. We've done pork, beef, chicken, turkey, sausage, fish... Just about anything locally available.

I've been smoking for years. Going to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving. My favorite is pork shoulder with JD wood chips. I use Cowboy lump charcoal.
