Smoking Commercials are getting ridiculous

I just wanted to post this now, I just watched an anti-smoking add that had angered me. It's the one of the high school girl saying that "he did this and that, blah, blah, blah" it's ridiculous.
AND before anyone jumps on me for being a smoker, please understand I do not condone anyone under 18 smoking. Yes it's a terrible habit, but I chose it for myself and have been since I was 13 (odd story for another day).
Has anyone else noticed how wrong most anti this/that ads are getting further and further from the truth?

This one? Yeah...this is a pretty stupid f***ing commercial. And this from a non-smoker.

FDA anti-smoking ad: 'Allison' - The Washington Post

I'd like to recommend vip e juice.com Tabacco vaporizer , or any other website , it's all water vapour you breathe in with no smoke left in the air. Will help cut back on at least a few smokes a day

I quit 5 months ago, cold turkey. I hat the commercials where the broad has a hole in her neck and talks to you about smoking

Thanks, but I'm not wanting to quit, plus every time I try a friend's vaporizer things it makes me cough. :/

There is nothing in this world like visiting Colorado, and smoking some of that high grade quality WEED........... (And it's legal)!!!!!!!!!!

Their commercials over there advertise it............

Now if you want to double your pleasure, smoke some quality weed, along with a cold Budweiser, and the double buzz, will take you out of this world.......

I like the one where the girl is trying to buy a pack of cigarettes and the lady behind the counter is like it'll be more than that so the girl rips off part of her face...the message being if you smoke cigarettes you give up having nice skin. Kind of messed up

No thanks man. Not my cup of tea since I turned 17 ( over a decade ago)

There was another one from truth.com where they used methane and uria cause it's found in tobacco, cat pee, and dog poo. Unfortunately for them, methane is a gas we all breath and its found in anyone's body, uria is a preservative found in many foods also

^^^I agree with you! Just having some fun with you, "ha, ha",because I don't smoke and never have! Back in my younger days,(a long time ago), most did smoke, because it just seemed to be the norm!

One of my Daughters also started smoking, when she was 13, but at age 27, she gave it up, with the help of the patches.

As for the advertising, the one that I have seen many times is, they show a picture of a nice looking young girl. Then they show her with part of her face eaten away, and her talking though a tube out of her neck. It does send a strong message...........

Hopefully someday, you also will decide to give it up. As I'm sure that you are aware, nobody can make you give it up, but rather only you can make that happen, when and if you are ready..........

Its the PETA syndrome. Shock and awe. Pictures of black lungs don't to it anymore so they come up with the worst they can.

I quit 3.5 years ago using an ecig. My smoking was behavior driven though. It was a hand to mouth habit when I drove.

I quit smoking using eCigs as well. I didn't like watching the commercials when I still smoked - especially with my family in the room watching along with me. I'll admit they did make me at least start to entertain quitting again after several years of not trying to quit. In the end, the monetary cost was the big motivator for me. I ignore the commercials now, just like tampon commercials and Democrat campaign commercials.

The latest is a guy walks into a store for a pack of smokes. He takes a pliers and pulls a tooth out of his mouth to pay for it, (I'm guessing the silver or gold for value). Then they say, smoking ruins your gums...........

Awww man just as messed up as the girl ripping off her face. When I worked in a dental office I got to see what years of dipping and smoking did to your teeth and how much it cost to "fix" (eventually dentures because a lot of people can't afford implants) that was enough for me.

Oh, man. I just can't let that one go.

I've had to put up with secondhand smoke in movie theaters, restaurants, airplanes, etc., most of my younger years. Now that the word is finally getting out about the dangers of secondhand smoke there are rules in place to protect us from idiots who couldn't care less about what they do in public and how it affects others around them.

If someone wants to smoke, fine, but KEEP YOUR DAMN SMOKE AWAY FROM ME!!!

amen. I know there are considerate smokers but lots of inconsiderate ones as well. I am always saddened and disgusted to see a dirtball and white trash momma smoking in thier vehicles with 3 little kids in the back having to breath that crap

I think the only smoking commercial I ever enjoyed was the guy with the shark on his arm. He was oblivious to it because he was trying to quit smoking and all he could think about was a cigarette. Could totally relate.

Smoking is a disgusting drug addiction that has no upside. I believe that adults have the right to put whatever toxins they want into their body but they don't have the right to force the rest of us to do the same.

Survival of the fittest, only 1 in 3 smokers die from smoking related illnesses. I'd prefer to see an anti-fast food comm. Maybe it'll keep some poor kid from getting obese, but that's not gonna happen :/

I don't smoke but chuckle at the at the anti-smoking thugs who are completely silent about smoking pot. I guess you don't inhale.

I have not seen that stat but I know in later life smokers have many more issues then none smokers so live or die it is about quality and I guess if someone values the enjoyment they get from cancer sticks more power to them, just means more fast food for me lol. I agree tho I think fast food is harmful long term too. Been mostly organic for years.

Not me. I think pot smokers are as stupid as cigarette smokers. We all have our choosen life styles and neither fit mine. I have my vices tho. I like quality craft beer and fast motorcycles. I do not however enjoy them at the same time lol.

I know we should not judge and be open minded but I have always had a hard time giving a smoker a fair shake. I know nicatine is addictive as most illegal drugs but whenever I see a smoker I automatically think it as a weakness more then an addiction and I know that is wrong so I am indeed a bad person and I apologize for that.

after 35yrs of smoking 2 packs a day the wife and i quit smoking 8 months ago but we are ecig users now,,neither of us have any withdrawls or even want to smoke cigs anymore.

we can smell how bad they really stink now, and as for me at age 53 have alot more strength and stamina i can actually run up and down these eastern ky hills and not get winded or mucle fatique like i use to..
are ecigs totally harmless i doubt it , but i sure feel and breath a whole lot better..
as for the weed,,,,well like i said im 53 i remember the days of the 70s all to well,,,lol

the ads on tv are discusting,,,and im glad there on there hopefully america will be a smoke free country one day with healthier people,,,
just my opinion ..
