Snow in Texas?!

Not only do I have a huge passion for my Jeep, I also I have a HUGE passion for the weather. It's something I've loved for as long as I can remember.

Currently one of the forecast models has a large swath of Texas covered in up to 10-12" of snow by December 28th.

Keep in mind this is VERY far out in terms of forecasting, and could very well change and turn out to be 60 degrees that day. But for now this model is consistently predicting snowfall across a large portion of Texas. Right now I'm in the 8-10"

I usually hate the snow because I hate working out in it (meter reader), but now that I own a Jeep I hope it snow every bit as much as is predicted or more! It'll be a blast!

Snow in Central Texas is a myth...

Except three years ago when we got less than a quarter inch and everything shut down for the day.

I would love to see a couple inches here (I'm from Illinois originally) but I quit getting my hopes up years ago.

Haha I know what it's like to watch a town shut down over a tiny amount of snow. We got about 2" in Wichita Falls last week and in just a few hours that morning the PD responded to over 50 wrecks.

On a side note I just saw this..

Low temps across north Texas on December 29th are supposed to be 0F to 10F degrees. OKC is forcast to be -5F to -10F that morning. I'm sure glad that's on a saturday and I won't be working out in it

Nice! I'm actually quite familiar with Burk. I read meters up there every month. I'm quite jealous of you though. Colorado is my dream

yea, I've been here in Colorado since '96 but I drive down to Wichita at least twice a year as I have family that lives down that way over off Fairway. I lived there back before that massive overpass ate up that entire downtown area!!

Lucky you. I want to move to Salida someday. My family goes on vacation there. Very cool town.

I've been in Wichita since Oct '11. I'm originally from Bowie. I honestly can't remember ever being in the downtown area before the overpass, but I'm sure glad it's there now! It saves me allot of time lol
