So there I was . . .

. . minding my own business, patrolling around in my town in uniform (decided to play cop for the night just for fun, since the rest of my unit is taking up their vacation before the end of the year and they lose it). I'm in a slick-top, and coming up on a red light. As I slow, I see a big Tahoe cross the center line and center-punch my car head-on at about 20 MPH. Great.

I call out the wreck, and I just know that the driver is going to be drunk. Nope. Just some blonde chick (no offense to blonde ladies - I love 'em), who dropped her cell phone, and bent over to get it while driving down the road. She was not happy that a). - she hit someone head-on in her nice sled and b). - it was a cop. Glad it was a relatively slow-speed accident - nobody hurt. Oddly - her vehicle seemed to have worse damage than mine.

Last week, about 2 miles back on the same road - I was playing patrolman in the same car. A crazy guy literally jumped out in front of my car to try to get me to run him over (attempted suicide) - then screamed at me to kill him for awhile. He was taken in without too much difficulty - again nobody hurt.

I'm starting to think that I should keep out of the uniform, and stay off that road.

Night. Be careful out there. Lots of dumb people on the road.

I'm glad no one was hurt either time. People are rude and crazy, especially this time of year.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. Stay safe. It's that time of year. I had a 38 min pursuit of a parolee in a GTA. He hit 3 cars, drove on blown tires (spike strip) and jumped and ran while it was still rolling. He's going back to prison after he gets out of the hospital.

There you go Harssassing someone...again!!! We all know you used your super secret powers to make her drop her phone and then used telekinetic power to steer her into your car.

My Wife was stopped in a parking lot and some girl hit from behind because her phone slipped off of the center console and she was attempting to retrieve it from the passenger floorboard.

As a side note...my Wife's car...1995 Cherokee..$178 damage for a new bumper. Her car..1997 Honda accord...totalled!!!

On your side note, my wife was rear-ended by a civic while in her 98 Cherokee. Her insurance bought us a new gas tank and rear door. Her car was totalled as well. She also had a 900.00 towing bill to get her home to Fla. The wife drove home.

It's your slick top I tell ya get some lights on that unit Oh and last Saturday we had a high speed chase through town and then down I-40 east crazy f#$%er blacked out at over 100 mph, So called off chase for public safety and set cars up ahead. luckily once he turned around and headed back to town he blew the motor and we caught him once he was stranded in the medium. all worked out as no one was hurt and we got our man. Anyway SPDSNYPR it might be the s$#t magnet in your uniform pocket Stay safe bro.

Do you guys video any of that? We have a video set up but don't have a constant feed. When someone acts up the Sgt. has to give the order to turn it on.

Our new jail I believe has cameras in them (holding cells) for 24/7 observation as well as the new cell blocks.....

no, he had just come in and hadn't even been booked yet straight from the sallyport. it was pretty cool though seeing someone just keep hittin their head into a wall, the shitty part is that we had to go in and get his blood soaked self... oh well there is always something intresting going on.

hey do you guys have the chair sleds? those are always fun to use, we have a ton of them...just don't get to use them very often

We call them the "happy chairs". Oodles of fun getting people in them if they don't want to go. I'd hate to have to spend time in one - couldn't scratch my nose if I needed to. we only have a 10 day holding facility with 23 cells (up to 3 per cell), so they don't get a lot of use.

" Happy chairs" Not in the old jail but they may get one in the new. We had one when I worked in the jail of another county and they are fun to get someone who doesn't want to go in one in it as stated.

tell me about it... we call them "sleds" awhile ago before I started working there they did a cell extraction on this guy who decided it would be fun to get buck naked and start yelling at the deputy who was working he was definatly 12-34 (our code for mental). but when they showed us the video I noticed that he talked just like popeye and had the lil' snarl in his lip too. it was pretty funny to watch that extraction.

We have 9 pods with sleds in them, then a bunch out in intake and release as well. I'm pretty sure that we have some in our old jail too that we do court transports to.
