So who else is sick for Xmas?

See title.

Two evenings ago I wound up catching some nasty-ass cold. Since then, it's been a bout of chest congestion, coughing, choking, puking, bad stomach pains, headache, burning/itching eyes, and the chills...

...And then there's snow outside along with a 2012 Subaru Forester instead of a 2012 Rubicon.

Bah Humbug.

So, yep, looks like I'll be spending my Xmas in bed. Joy to the world.

Exactly. Three weeks ago I was in FL, then came back, and got some nasty stomach bug like two days later. Then it was "on and off" to "the races" for a few days, seemed to clear up, then came back again, cleared up, and now here I am. I've been sick since around the 9th.

The lesson I learned was not that I should use hand sanitizer, but rather Charmin makes a better friend than Quilted Northern.

Merry Shitmas to you too, Bro...

LOL, maybe that's why we were at each other's throats yesterday. My wife woke up with a nasty stomach flu Christmas day and I caught her cold that she had just recovered from. Needless to say, we still feel miserable but at least we feel miserable together. Thankfully our 2 yr old wasn't sick one bit and was enjoying his Christmas. There's nothing worse than having to watch your child be sick during the holidays.
Hope you get better.

No Jeep presents, but I did get a real nice Martin "Backpacker" travel guitar from my wife. Can't go wrong with a Martin!

Aside from being awfully sick, the holiday wasn't too bad.

Nah, we were at each other's throats because of your inane cynicism and derision, not to mention your fanboyish behavior for your Ford product.

Okay, seriously, you're probably right. Neither of us are feeling particularly well, and one of the first things to go with not feeling well, aside from the obvious, are patience and overall tolerance for issues that normally wouldn't be issues. It is what it is, and it's water under the bridge. I'm sorry, you're sorry, we're all sorry. It's all good.

Cottonelle, while soft, tends to break apart on me, then I wind up doubling as the "Charmin bear" with toilet paper "dust" and "particles" scattered all over my rear.

Given that I have quite a severe case of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), I've become well-versed in which toilet papers are good and which ones are bad. I mean, even though life can be pure hell, sometimes I just have to laugh about it and be a good sport. Every party needs a pooper, so they just invite me.

The best toilet paper by far was this Quilted Northern "Aloe" version, but Quilted Northern no longer makes it, or if they do, I can't find it. I've noticed that fairly recently (within the past six months or so...), Quilted Northern has become tougher, following in the horrid footsteps of Scott. I refer to it as "John Wayne;" rough, tough, and don't take shit off nobody.

So, after battling it out with Quilted Northern, while in FL my MIL picked up some Charmin something-or-other (Ultra?) and not only is it softer than Quilted Northern, but it's wider as well, which is always a plus.

I was a die-hard Quilted Northern fan until "discovering" this particular Charmin product.

But yeah, on another note, I have pneumonia, so I have a followup appointment tomorrow with the doc, and hopefully I can make a quick recovery. Just trying to think straight is a challenge and I wind up outta breath.

Wow, now that's one hell of a toilet paper review. On this issue, I will yield.
Is the IBS the reason you're such a pain in the butt??
I kid I kid. Feel better man. Pneumonia is nothing to screw around with, I hope you make a speedy recovery.

IBS is actually pretty horrible, and one of those things that's overlooked a lot within the medical world. I've been to no fewer than 10 doctors, a few specialists, had multiple tests done, biopsies, etc. It's simply not taken seriously. Doctors don't have answers so they just call it "IBS." They'll all tell the same stories...

- "It's stress-related."

- "You're eating the wrong foods."

- "It's in your head."

- "You just need to stop focusing on it."

...Now the truth is that IBS is a "miscommunication" between the brain and the intestines/digestive system. In other words, the intestine "zigs" when it should "zag," so to speak. That's probably the easiest way to put it.

Let's just say there are a lot of daily routines people don't give a second thought to, while those same routines can be very traumatic for me. I do a lot of staying behind while everyone else goes out and has fun. My condition is so bad it's not only cost me promotions at work, but also nearly cost me my employment with some companies. It's a good thing I work with a company who allows me to choose my own hours.
