Bumble bee ball? I've been lucky and haven't had to say any thing to my parents.

Yeah, when the swarm of kids just follow the ball around. Parents in the background,"Boot it" "Kick it hard" lol. We would go talk to the parents before the first match and ask them kindly not to and to be good sportsman, if we heard otherwise we would escort them off the field. I always loved it... Usually the soccer mom that was just using it as a baby sitting service. "Little Johnny wants to play forward" No, "Well why not"

Lol got ya. Yea they still bunch up some but not as bad as some other teams I've seen. I've been lucky in my two years coaching I've not had. Problem parent who thinks they know the game better than anyone.

Thats how we were also. My daughters coach is ridiculous, yelling, hollering at the girls. Our motto was that we didnt coach during a game, we coached at practice if you catch my drift. Not saying we would just sit there and let them run all nimbly bimbly on the field but we wouldnt do the yelling and hollering, etc

It sounds like we have the same coaching style. Every play is an opportunity for the kids to learn. I've never been one to yell at the kids. I simply explain their mistake and tell them how to handle the situation next time. Yelling and screaming never does anything for the kids.

Yep. My sons coach is the same way. Very calm and relaxed. I think the boys like it. Their assistant coach is Alex Nimo. He used to play pro for the Timbers and Real Salt Lake

That's a wealth of experience right there. That's gonna help the local high school program in a few years.

Yeah, I just wish he woulda been here sooner. Their last coach was a complete tool. Plus one of the kids's moms was the team manager and had been the head of the sports program all through his years in school. He sucked , and he still played and started. Now hes gone shes hasnt even been to a game, but she was doing it for the team yeah. Oh man i could go on. I hate the politics in HS ball.

<----bta2011's dad & former high school coach. I filled in for him today. We are a small division IV school whose program is 8 years young. We played an established (20+ years) division I program today. We've been playing this school for several years. Its always a butt whoopin from the opening whistle and tonight was no different. Against these schools you measure small victories. We scored against them (a first) and we held them under 10 for only the second time. Baby steps. 8-2, I consider it a moral victory. We can play well against the schools our size, but its tough to compete with the big schools. We are miles ahead of where we were when he and I first came to the program (it was 2 years old then), but they've got a ways to go yet. I love the program, I'm proud of the program, but most of all I'm proud that I could step aside and hand the reigns over to a good high school coach and proud that bta2011 is giving back to the program we worked so hard to help build by coaching his old middle school team.

Its terrible. If the defense isnt under pressure they just boot it up field, if they are pressured they just boot it out of bounds. The last three teams weve played play this kind of ball.

I do like a quick switch though. It's fun getting a quick counter attack on.

Yeah, but every play is just ridiculous. It has its place, especially if your striker is fast. Posession wins the game though.

And possession is way more fun to watch. I have a kid on my team who had the ability to break anyone's ankles and he is a 7th grader. Do much fun to watch him make people look stupid. Lol

Its how the game is supposed to be played. Skill and patience. If it doesnt work, drop the ball, send it back out and spread the defense out.

Tied 2-2 tonight. My boy with one and the other team with an O.G. The keep just tipped a free kick he took. Kept it low and curled it.

Im not sure what was better, his cheeky back heel across the goal for the assist or his 1v1 schooling on the defender before the assist. Stood him up, feinted left switched right then "NUTMEG" the whole crowd was like " DOHHH"
