Its really a David vs. Goliath kinda deal. Real small town. They are a great bunch of kids. Ive personally coached 3 of them since the age of 8. Lots of emotion for me watching these kids grow into very talented ballers. This coming thursday is their last home game they will ever play.

That's always tough. It's probably the best/worst game ever. So much emotion in one game.

College athletics is an animal. I've been there and it consumes every second it can. Hope he's ready.

I play off and on. I just finished coaching my second year of middle school soccer. Now I'm trying to organize an indoor team for the middle schoolers. I am also trying to get together a team of buddies to play indoor in January.

Yeah, We have two more league matches also so I hope he can bump it up. Last night the team was trying to get some of the guys that haven scored yet a chance for one. Were only allowed 7 before he has to write a letter and the school gets fined. Lotsa chances for them, but some of them just cant finish worth a hoot. Id like to see goal tallies for the other players in the league just to see where every one is at.

BT...I believe I would have gotten my pen out & my checkbook after the 2nd Madison Pl. game.

We played this team his junior year that during the game did a lot of trash talking "you suck" kinda stuff. We only had 3 starters there for that game. They beat us 3-2. We came back the next week full strength. I pulled our top people with 2 minutes left. 9-0. I usually didn't do that. I don't like to embarrass a team (or be embarrassed for that matter) but sometimes you just gotta do what ya just gotta do.

We used to get pounded when we first came to the program his 8th grade year. By his Junior year we beating the schools our size (div. 4), but still getting beat up by bigger schools (div 1). We played almost year round for 5 years. We were able to skirt the eligibility rules because we were a club team. We played in a city league & a travel league in the spring. Played against area high schools (technically scrimmages because of our club status) in the fall and played indoor during the winter, all with the same core group of kids. Makes for great continuity. That much playing time and you're bound to improve. His senior year, the schools our size didn't want to schedule us. Didn't want to lose to a club team. We weren't in a league because only 4 schools in our league had teams. We had to take what we could get for games.

I hear ya. Well, we ended up with a draw tonight. Down 0-2 at half, came back to tie it up then their goalie made a huge mistake and popped it back out and we finished with him catching it over the line trying to drag it back. Put us up 3-2. 10 minutes left our center back made a ridiculous play back to keep and in the process didnt shield. Now were tied at 3. Worst officiated game ive ever seen. My boy was denied a goal scoring opportunity, no call, no card. He was brought down three other times in the box from behind, nothing. I was fuming. The officials were escorted off the field

I would have gone ballistic. It seemed a common theme with us this year. Officials neglecting to make a call. Even had a player taken down in the box and stay down. Didn't blow the play dead even with a player in a dangerous situation. Kids running around trying to shoot/ clear the ball and my player is lying on the ground defenseless.

I used to.. about 6 years ago. I can't seem to find enough people to make a rec team, so I don't play much anymore.

Just took a trip out to New York to see the Red Bulls play at home. That was great. Toured a few stadiums when I took a trip to London a few years ago, and went to a international friendly b/w Ireland and Nigeria. It was the only "professional" game going on while I was there

Red Bulls and an Arsenal fan. All because of Thierry Henry.

Since we're going down that lane...I really don't care for Suarez of Liverpool but I REALLY REALLY dislike (I'm playing nice here) Mario Baltelli (*spelling). Suarez mainly because of a handball in last year's FA Cup against Mansfield Town. The handball left the ball at his feet in front of the Stag's goal and the keeper had no chance. He then kissed the wrist it hit in celebration of a goal. That shows absolutely no class. Baltelli is just an @$$. Watch any match he's played in.

Balotelli borders the line between madman and genius. Fun to watch though and not a friggin cheat like the others weve mentioned. Torres is my guy

Awesome!! Good luck and keep me posted on the season. We unfortunately were in able to get enough people for the indoor team this year so looks like I'm done with soccer till spring.

2-0 for the win, D gets both. One off a sweet free kick and another finish in typical striker fashion!

Ok, we play the #2 ranked team tonight for a spot in the final four. On a side note, I have a conference call with him, his mom and a coach about college scouts and his player profile.
