Awesome, glad to have another on the thread! Id like to see Spain win again. I would root for the US but until Captain Douchebag is gone i wont.

The US is too inconsistent and while Spain is still very good the key players are starting to show their age. I think this go you'll see a younger team take it especially if Spain has a lot of the long hard fought matches.

Brazil def a force to be dealt with as is Spain, & Germany. I have a feeling some of these countries will struggle with the heat. I'd like to see Portugal win it this year. For a smaller nation they produce a beautiful game.

Portugal is a threat but i dont believe they are as rounded or as deep as Spain. Ronaldo cant carry the whole team. I actually liked him better when he played for Man U. Fergie would have never put up with the crap he pulls with Madrid. Anyways, Spain has had that same core for almost ten years now. Yes Puyols is older that dirt and Iniesta is getting there too as is TORRES(my guy) its just hard to beat a team with that much knowledge. Plus they have new talent like Mata and Luiz and a few others, cant think of their names. Anyhow, im stoked for next weekend as i said, my boys first game for FC Portland is next weekend. Theres nothin i love more than watching him play. He went from shining the pine last year(politics) to leagues leading scorer and tied for offensive player of the year. #9 most feared striker.

Torres looks bad given he scored earlier today but even that was ugly, both Luiz and mata haven been regular starters. Given Spain has experience but this is really a young mans game, experience only gets you so far. Spain used to be a dominate force and they just aren't any longer. I think you'll see the heat be a major factor in the games. Good luck with your lad and keep us posted on the results

Blasphemy... Torres never looks bad, lol. He's had his moments but I still believe in him. Classy and humble he is. He plays good ball and doesnt flop like a few weve mentioned before (Ronaldo, Neymar) and doesnt have a bullshite attitude(Balotelli, fun to watch though) El Nino will always be my favorite.

He's had a bad moment since he left liverpool. He's a talent but seems to have lost the passion for the game. He has truly lost the form that won so many over and got him the move to Chelsea.

I agree, he is not the Torres of Liverpool but none the less, he is my guy. Its the same story with everyone. Look at Drogba. How often do you hear his name, or Anelka? Yeah Torres is no Ibrahimovic or Balotelli but he is not a superficial A-hole or a spoiled brat. You can play Torres the full 90 without the risk of a red knowing he will make it happen if the chance is there.

Drogba is 35 and has been a key player for Galatasaray S.K. And the Ivory Coast, still getting it done Anelka is 34 and just scored a key goal for West Bromwich last game week in the EPL, a new resurgence since he's left Chelsea. Hard to compare those two to Torres who was supposed to be at the peak of his career right now. That's not to say he won't turn things around and be the dominant player he was. Personally I think it's the formation Chelsea plays. With the addition of hazard, mata, William and oscar, Torres has just seemed to disappear. You'd think with the coaching change you'd see for of that Spanish flair come back into his game. Hard to say really what's happened to Torres. I'm big on Agerro when he's fit although I hate city to the core.

Thats my point. Drogba is 35 yet still a world class striker and you never hear a word about him. Ugh. I know Torres is not what he was, oh well. He still puts points on the board. Im rambling, lol.

I guess we watch different sports networks. Galatasaray Is usually mentioned on sky sports or FSC soccer reports. I'm guessing because he's out of the EPL he's considered off the main stage and easily missed. Who do you like as an up & comer?

Sturridge. I think with the right support he can be world class.

We'll keep in mind I'm not American soooooo I may a bit more into it than the average person. On any given day I could have 2 tvs going with different matches a laptop with a 3rd and possibly a tablet with a 4th. I'm obsessed with my fantasy team as well.

I see Brazil or Spain taking the Cup with them this year. Maybe Germany depending on how they play.

What has David Moyes done to ManU? He's killing me!!!! He was a mid-pack coach and now he's taken one of the best teams in the EPL & made them a mid-pack team. Wonder if we can coax Sir Alex back?

Mata was out of favor with the chosen one Nd just wasn't getting playing time he desired. On the flip side the staff weren't thrilled with his antics thus the sale. As far as man united and Moyes goes, I don't think it's so much him as it's the current roster. He's had numerous injuries in key positions, defense is playing like poo. Moyes was a mid table coach you're right but mainly because Everton never opened the checkbook to buy impact players. I think united would be maybe 2 games better with SAF.

And just so you know the term ManU or Man U is kind a slap in the face among true supporters of the club. Often it's used by city fans. Man United or just United are considered acceptable. Do with that gem as you see fit
