someone please tell me when this became ok...

I'm in the store with my eleven year old and a guy comes up to us and starts talking to my boy. He proceeds to tell my child how hot I am and then asks me if I'm still married. What the heck is wrong with people? You don't talk to a child like that.

I laughed it off but then explained to my boy how inappropriate it was for this man to not only speak to him like that, but to approach me like that. Now I wish I'd have went ahead and made the scene I considered..... wish my son had launched into "STRANGER DANGER!!!!! I don't KNOW YOU!!!!"

That would have fixed him.

Now I'm just kinda ticked. He shouldn't have spoken to my boy.

Teach him to say, "Yeah, she's still married, even after he killed the last guy that said that. He should be out of prison in 3 to 5."

That is very foward for a guy to do that, it is hard to know what to do in front of your son, so I think you handled it well. If you were on your own, a kick in the groin would have sufficed. Using a child so he could hit on you, please! what a jerk

You should have given him an old fashioned ass whoopin! Where was Cain while this was going on? I'm sure he would have had some nice words to say.

That's pretty disrespectful of him to ask your son that if you ask me.

I think I'd have gotten in trouble if I'd have punched him in the brain.

Cain was home... but I don't think it would have been words he'd have given the guy. More for talking to the Mouser than to me.

I doubt you'd have gotten in trouble if you'd slapped him across the face. He should get the message that he was out of line. But if he didn't and he'd tried to retaliate, you could kick his caboose and it would be self defense.

It's not Ok. It will never be Ok. There are so many things wrong with it, it would take me a week to cover them all.
Sadly, too many men are buying into the crap that this is the kind of behavior that modern women like. You should have said something along the lines of: "your behavior is inappropriate, please leave now". If he doesn't, pull out your phone and take his picture and then call 911. Sorry you and mouse had to experience this. We never used to have this kind of thing happen in Temecula. I guess we’re losing our “small town” designation.

I would have been more prepared had he taken a swing at me, but I was so caught off guard I had no idea other than to put myself between mouse and him and wait for him to move on, which he did. It was just creepy behavior.

Amy..... I never strike with an open hand unless it's the heel of my hand to the nose or stabbing strike to the throat... I'da gotten in trouble for those

Absolutely not ok! I am not sure when or where people learn these things, but I could point a finger at all those "romantic comedies" that are on the shelves nowadays. I believe that some people see things on tv or in movies and believe that is how real life is supposed to go.

I agree with Amy that you should have slapped him across the face, you would have most definitely been justified and it might have caught his attention long enough to bring him back to reality.

Our cinema is full of rape scenes that are considered romantic. If the the woman resists, slap her, force her, and she will be all smiles in the morning. Gone with the Wind, James Bond. It is a patriarchy. This is how it functions. Except in the Matrix.

I think that was a pretty f'd up thing for this assclown to do but sadly....i am not surprised. There are ALL kinds out there but from one momma bear to another regarding our cubs......immediate reaction is to place ourselves between freakophile and cubs and think it out in detail later! He's lucky he didn't get his ass handed to him (HE just doesn't know that!)

After thinking about this, realistically, I might suggest that you escalate this by asking the guy to accompany you to the nearest employee, have security paged, and ask him to repeat what he said in front of security and the employee.

Not OK. However, that is far from the worst type of stuff that happens everyday. The world is full of people that need to have their butts kicked. Should have told them, yes I'm still married. My husband just got out of prison for killing a guy who hit on me. He would mind going back either!

Not ok at all... I'm in favor of public executions.

Vote PROVE in 2012.
