That will help, but there's sentence structure and punctuation too.

I don't think it's too much to ask for people to not end their sentences with prepositions, dangle their participles, or misspell words. It's lack of attention to detail. And that lack may not kill you in a desk job, but it will in my job. It's a HUGE pet peeve of mine. It also makes you look uneducated or just lazy. Here's a link that you (collectively) can copy and save to your computer. If there's any question about how to spell a word, visit this site and HOLY COW....all your questions will be answered!!!

Dictionary and Thesaurus - Merriam-Webster Online

If you're guilty, then know this.....I'm not making fun of you, I'm lending you a hand.

If you're not guilty, I'm not patronizing you, this doesn't apply to you. Disregard previous rant....

Hope you guys didn't get sick from me splitting this into it's own thread.

Cavey, I agree to a degree. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling aren't important to everyone. Most people mix up certain words, I write words backwards sometimes because of my injury, and commas are just a pain in the ass to place.

I also know that when you read something your mind tends to fill in words and skip over common mistakes especially if you've read the piece over and over. Which is the reason most writers have beta readers and editors.

Anyways, glaring spelling errors bug me, too, but mostly I just like to tease you guys.

Not sick, I really don't like hijacking someones thread because of spelling and/or grammar. I'm guilty of it also and it bugs me just the same. As stated above sometimes they just beg to be addressed.
My problem has always been writing on paper whats in my head. My mind is usually a paragraph ahead of my typing.

I understand, and I don't want to come off as a Grammar Nazi. Like I said, it's a pet peeve.......and one that I should keep to myself. I can get over people not constructing grammatically correct sentences, but come on, people, the little red line under the misspelled word is a glaring reminder that you've erred.

That's why I split it. Seemed like I should.

As for being way ahead of your fingers, I do the same. It's difficult if I don't go right back and read immediately because I forget what I was trying to say.

Oh heck no, you're not a Grammar Nazi, that's Scout. But yes, I feel your pain. Writing is fast becoming a lost art. Seems a shame that when society falls no one will be able to communicate without being face to face.

I was not aware of the fact that this forum graded on spelling and punctuation. I have a hard enough time omitting all the F words in my brain as I type. Now I have to worry about spelling?

I was in Atlanta. The son of my fathers best friend has a car company there (222.performanceimportsatlanta.com).
I was also in Santa Monica as a trainee in a film company for 6 months. I still work there as a freelancer a few times a year when there are German customers.
And I have a friends in Colorado Springs and near Pensacola. I will visit them in 2009.

Do I get brownie points for trying to take english and writing classes.

I know I do not speak or write well, but I'm trying to correct it.

I'm a hick....deal with it.

Cool, my parents had a German exchange student in the late 80's. I only met him once and can't remember what town he was from.
