Okie dokie....as I've said elsewhere, a Vast majority of my driving is Highway-time. Cruising on 80 and minding my own business.
Well, with the doors off, it can be challenging to here my tunage...as yall have experienced yourselves, i'm sure.
This means that in order for me to be in-tune with my tunes, I have to have it at a volume that is totally appropriate on the highway...but perhaps a bit irresponsible when you coast to a stop at a light and forget that not everyone is interested in your musical appetite.
And, regrettably I have an addiction to bass (not the fishy sort). I typically subscribe to the philosophy that if I cant FEEL it then I cant HEAR it. See where this is headed? Wait for it.
I'll also mention again, as I have in other music threads, that I have a somewhat eclectic music taste...dang-near anything goes depending upon what mood I am in...or want to be in. Fot the purposes of this story, I had been channel surfing and had landed on "50's on 5"....dont sneer. Its way before my time but probably the most fun per hour from any entertainment that comes from a dashboard.
So here I was.... pulling up to the one light in the tiny little town between where I was and were I was headed. I had just come off a 4-some of great songs that had me enjoying my listening perhaps a little more than any respectable white-man should. and THIS song comes on. And...well...ya just gotta go for it.
So Im lost in my world, barely paying attention to the light, I glance over to the car next to me and they are laughing and singing along too. As is the car BEHIND THEM. For two and a half minutes we had three cars jamming away to a 60 year old song and having a hell of a good time. All the vehicles we shaking. Hands were flying. it was rediculous. Almost an automotive flash-mob.
Then the light changed and we all went on our way. I had been laughing so hard I was crying.
What an amazing way to start a weekend.
Figured I'd share it with yall too and hope it puts a grin on your face.
