Take the doctor's advice and do 6 weeks of light activity. The rest will come with time. And quit worrying about the weight. Worry about feeling good and taking care of yourself.

Take your pain meds, and have someone rent you some comedys or "family" (Kids) movies. That will keep you amused Computer games also go a long way to killing time.
