Stupid kid stole a dump truck in my town

The story, and cruiser video just make me angry. The shear disregard for people's safety blows my mind. The kid is facing some serious jail time, and might even be tried as an adult.

He totaled one police cruiser, and caused 5k worth of damage on another. He also rear ended my friends mom, luckily she's okay. The officers appear to be fine too.

Ohio.com - Dump truck ramming plays out like cop reality TV show

They'll probably blame it on GTA. Stupid kids.

Warning, video has NSFW words.

Yeah, get him as an adult. He was running everyone off the road.

Ya for letting him play that game haha. I just mean he has probly played that game some point in his life and thought it would be cool to steal a car in real life, it may have been just a small contributer to the problem. I love me some Assassins Creed, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna go medieval and murder some people but for other troubled kids they might choose to do so...

I think that certain people should be screened thoroughly before being allowed to reproduce.

I actually know the kid and his parents. He's a pretty dysfunctional kid. When I first heard about it, I thought it was some bad kid taking a joy ride. He was so aggressive. I have no sympathy for whatever punishment he gets. That officer whose cruiser was totaled should receive an award. He attempted to stop that truck with his cruiser, risking his life, to save a group of people.

I like the end, when you see the dog jump out and run forward.

I can assure you that kid had a VERY bad day after that chase if they let (they did) that dog chomp on him at all. 700ish psi, bone crushing

For anyone who has or does drive heavy equipment, know the damage they can cause in an accident. He should be tried as an adult. He could have easily killed someone, luckily that didn't happen!

Yup. I'm glad too. I wonder if that thing was a manual...

The article said it was manual I believe. I don't see a truck that size being auto anyways though.

Parents should not be complaining about the system not helping THEIR kid, they should have sent his ass to military school, or something similar, years ago.

You do the deed and make a kid... He/she YOUR responsibility for the next 18 years, minimum.

We had a dump truck drive through one of the buses I used to drive at school a few years before I started working there. and I mean through, not hit. tore the last 5 feet of the bus clean off. The bigger the vehicle the more energy it has when its traveling. and thats where the big problems happen.

CT has had several dump truck accidents in the past few years because their brakes fail when going down hill.

I don't understand why it was allowed to play out that long.... if you ram another car on purpose especially a police cruiser then try and take off you should be shot on sight....
as soon as he stopped again I would have pulled around and emptied the clip on his dumb a$$ right through the door!
I don't understand the mentality of law enforcement these days.... he attempted to kill a police officer by ramming his car with a dump truck.... to shoot the kid would have been justified.... and saved the taxpayers a good chunk of change.....
just my $.02

On a lighter note, If there is one, that kid drove that thing pretty good! Maybe in 50 years when he gets out of the klink he can drive trucks! Wasnt there something in Cal a few years back when a guy swiped a tank from the Natl Guard armory and drove thru the streets crushing cars and light poles?

Prob. too much Burocracy to shoot the kid on sight. Although thats what should have happened. How many people would have he had to kill before that happened?

I know if i was in that car in front of the cruiser that he backed up into I would have gotten out and shot him myself since he sat there that long....
FMJ 9mm goes right through a windshield....

Yea the bureaucracy kills me these days.... They will violently apprehend a grade school kid for bringing a bb gun to school for show and tell but they wont shoot the guy who tried to kill at least 3 people and endangered dozens more???

The punishment needs to fit the crime... point a gun at someone but not pull the trigger even if its not justified, an apology is in order not a jail sentence....
Physically try to kill 3 people and nope we can't shoot him???

If I ever have the financial ability my jeep an I are leaving this clusterF... of a country and moving to a nice spot in Saint Kitts.... No gun needed no ridiculous taxes, not waging war on other nations for little or no reason, everyone speaks English as their first language.... the list goes on.... Did I mention the beaches????

wow, kids these days...wow I am sounding old...well so it goes.

I guess this is why I'm not a cop, I'd have shot him.

Hope the dog got to take a bite out of crime.

I wanted to chime in on this one because the snot nosed punk really deserves some serious payback. But after reading this post, you have said everything I had to say and I could not agree with you more on everything.

In Vegas, you can pull a gun on a cop and end up getting shot. The community with then blame.... the cops for shooting the criminal. We live in a society where no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions and society allows it... heck, they cause it!

Spending so much time trying to find reasons why people shouldn't follow the laws when it would just be smarter and easier to obey them and NOT risk everyones life.

I hate people and I really hate this kid AND his parents. It is obvious he has the ability to really hurt/kill anyone without remorse or guilt... the kid is messed up and needs to be locked away for a LONG time.
