I have a small hobart welder, it's really nice for the small task.....I agree with "ibuildembig" that miller is the top of the line and it's gonna outlast you!!

Cool Thanks for the advice!!!!!

Hey Forumners,

I looked around and after talking to a couple different places I decided to go with a company called longevity. The other companies you guys suggested were a little to expensive for me and i am on a budget. so hey if you are on a budget like me than you should go ahead and check it out too. jus go to longevity-inc.com and let me know what you think but thanks for the help!!!!

Hmmm, doesn't look like much of a deal to me. The biggest thing your gonna have with that is availability of consumables (ie mig gun parts, tips, gas diffusers, etc) Having a Miller will allow you to run either a miller or hobart tip which you can get at Lowes or TSC if you run out on a weekend. You can get a good used miller 210 for a grand or less if you look around; and thats what most of your fab shops use. I set out to buy that exact model 10 years ago but I got a deal on a 251 instead. I am so happy with their product quality that I recently bought a TIG to complete my lineup lol. My MIG lasted me 6 years and 12 projects before I had to replace the liner.

This is a case where the cliche' "you get what you pay for" definately comes into play IMHO....I'd hate to see you spend your wad on a no name welder only to shock your gonads the first time you pull the trigger because someone at the factory forgot to do something

The thing I like....I can run 220 at my shop, or I can run it off of my 6kw generator at 110v out in the field, such as at the lake, hunting camp, etc......

Yes one of the guys I run with has an old Lincoln he takes with us...welds like crap, but it will stick two pieces together enough to get out of the woods lol. I'm in the process of building a new tow rig that will have a miller/bobcat in the bed so if it really hits the fan we can put er back together

Gonna be happy to show some welds I've done with my welder soon. So far everything's still doing great. I might need to get some consumables soon. Will let you know how that goes too. Customer service is key to me!
