Super Cars

Obviously we have a love for our jeeps, but I feel like I am safe to assume there are others like me who likes super cars. To name a few I particularly like the Nissan Skyline GT-R with the R34. A $54,000(at the time) Nissan that could smoke any other car on the planet. I also like the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Yes I have an obsession with those too, but it's a more depressing obsession because I can't have one

Not sure if a person would consider it a "Supercar", but it was my dream car from the time I was 16 and got to drive an original. Took me 40 years before I could buy one, but it was worth it.

While not a supercar, it could kick the ass of 99% of the vehicles out there.

Not an original, but not a kit built in a garage either. It was a replica built in a factory minus the motor and transmission, not unlike the originals.

This one was a Superformance built by a company called Hi-Tech in South Africa. They are the same company that builds the Shelby CSX replicas.

Car weighed 2650 pounds and had 650+ HP.

I have had a lot of fun, fast cars in my life, but this was without a doubt the best.

I'm going to get on my soap box and go on a rant. Can anyone explain to me why the US government doesn't want us importing a Nissan skyline GT-R? I'm talking about one of these! I am in love with this car and would kill to get my hands on one!!

Seriously why can't we have one? I know they make a Nissan GT-R but i like the looks of the R34 skyline better than the new GT-R.

Ask DOT they set the crash standards. I'm not sure this is true, but I have heard that GM had a hand in toughening the safety standards because they were worried about being outsold by foreign competition.

There are a lot of different factors as to why a car isn't imported. Everything from safety stuff, emissions, engine testing, and even how well the company thinks the car would sell. If the company doesn't think the car will be a good profitable investment, they don't bring it to the US. It happens all the time in the motorcycle world. Dives me nuts

True, I think though if Nissan brought a R34 skyline for sale in the US they would have no problem selling it.

A great majority has to do with safety standards. If there were international safety standards (more along the lines of Europe's, instead of our outdated ones) the vehicle landscape would be very different here and much better!

I'm getting to the point where I hate most American cars. I'm past the point where I hate the US government. Nissan would have no problem selling an R34. Look how we'll the Z's did.

I LOVE the X-19. I was SO close to buying one as a 16 year old, but didn't and then life got in the way.

I have seen a few around and they have a bit of a cult following. Maybe one day . . . . .

Not sure though. Between a Just Empty Every Pocket and a Fix It Again Tony, my kids wouldn't make it to college.

Not really a SUPERcar, but

I always thought it would be cool to have one of these:

Oh . . . I don't know. I bet it would smoke the POS it's parked next to.

And that's why I prefaced my post with "Not really a SUPERcar", but it is a bad a$$ ride.

You put those two cars up against each other in stock GT and SS form and that poor monte wont stand a chance in keeping up with the stang, and this is coming from a chevy guy.
