I work for the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce and a man by the name of Rob Crouch approached us with helping him with a project for his brother in Iraq. Details below:
United States Army Staff Sergeant Scott Crouch, a former Tigard High School student now serving in Iraq, will have a big surprise when he returns home. His brother, Rob Crouch of Tualatin, is rebuilding and restoring Scott’s 1985 Volkswagen Golf Automobile virtually from the ground up as a homecoming gift. Although Scott’s wife, Ashlie (herself a Tigard High School graduate) and their two children know this is happening, it will come as a complete surprise to Scott.
Scott first enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1989 and served in Operation Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged in 1993. Two years later, he re-enlisted in the US Army and has since served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Croatia, Albania, Kuwait and now Iraq.
To date, some local businesses have donated labor and shop time, including:
Wen-Sen Metal Fabrication
Tuffcoat Powder Coaters
3d Custom Auto Restorations
However, there are thousands of dollars worth of parts that need to be purchased. A fund has been set up for cash donations and they can be made at any Oregon or Washington Wells Fargo Bank Branch. The Fund Name is:
“The Scott Crouch Mayble Project”
In-kind donations or parts are also greatly appreciated and a list can be obtained by calling Rob Crouch at 503-318-2255
