I got this email today from Frontsight. It shows the recent shooting in NY with 2 officers and the suspect. Just a little backdrop: the guy was a disgruntled employee who was let go when the company he worked for was downsizing. Apparently even during his employment there he never got along with his boss. He came back and shot the boss 3-5 times in the head, put his .45Cal in his shoulder bag and calmly walked out.
A nearby construction worker saw the incident and followed the suspect for about a block when they came up on the Empire State Building where as part of the anti-terrorism unit 2 uniformed officers are always stationed and he alerted them. The video just shows when the officers approach and when the suspect was put down. The kicker to this story is there were a total of 2 dead and 9 injured. The 9 injured allegedly by the officers. They hit the suspect 7 times but also hit 9 innocents from no more than 5'-10' away. I know some will have different opinions on this and let me start off by saying I was never in a gun battle nor do I care to be. I don't think anyone wakes up in the mornings saying I wish I can have a standoff with a perp today but as officers who should be trained for stressful situations like these I honestly think they failed. They got their guy yes and no one else was killed except for the victim and the perp but the shooting performance was atrocious.
Mayor Bloomberg of NY is one of the biggest anitgun activists you'll find out there and as it stands New Yorkers cannot carry with the exception of retired law enforcement, business owners and things of that nature. The rest of us are like sitting ducks while crime in NY is on the rise. Anyway enough of my ranting. Here's the link to the video and you decide.

None of the other bystanders that were shot were hit directly from the police, they got hit by fragments of bullets that broke apart hitting the sidewalk or the concrete planters.

if you've never had the pleasure of bullets flying past your head its hard to really explain all the things happening at once. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. MY thoughts go out to anyone who was injured and to anyone affected by what they saw. just a bad situation all the way around

I beg to differ. I saw the X-ray of at least one person with the shattered hip which resulted in hip replacement surgery. That is more in line with a direct hit rather than ricochets. Either way the hit ratio is still bad I think. They got very lucky this time and the outcome is still in their favor considering 9 other people got hit directly or by ricochets.

False. They were shot by a poorly trained incompetent police force. A private citizen would have done a FAR better job, as a private citizen is far more practiced, and is FAR more careful in trigger pulling since they don't have the protection and immunity of a badge. If anyone on the street had a CCW, I assure you there would have been no innocent bystanders.

This Bloomturd as I normally call him is out of control. From trans fats to salt to guns to his silly bike paths in Manhattan that has increased accidents between cyclists and pedestrians tremendously this man just sees NY as his toy. I mean what would you expect from a billionaire who changed the term limit rules to get himself re-elected and once he did changed them again so that no one can run for a third term in the future? Some may not know about the bike path but basically Manhattan now has dedicated bicycle lanes all over the city. Where are the bike lanes you ask? As soon as you step off the sidewalk you are walking into the path of a cyclist. Instead of having the extra protection of parked cars that has always been the case ever since cars and street parking was invented you now have to worry about speeding bikes coming in all directions. Bikers don't necessarily follow the traffic rules so things like one way streets mean nothing to them. Many times we get traumas from pedestrians who were blindsided as a result of this. I know some will also say that you should look both ways before crossing the street and this is absolutely true but when something like this has been engrained in your mind that you have a parked car to protect you its very hard to adjust and we see the consequences of it all the time.

Like I said, he's a scumbag that deserves to get what should be coming to people like him.
