I got this email today from Frontsight. It shows the recent shooting in NY with 2 officers and the suspect. Just a little backdrop: the guy was a disgruntled employee who was let go when the company he worked for was downsizing. Apparently even during his employment there he never got along with his boss. He came back and shot the boss 3-5 times in the head, put his .45Cal in his shoulder bag and calmly walked out.
A nearby construction worker saw the incident and followed the suspect for about a block when they came up on the Empire State Building where as part of the anti-terrorism unit 2 uniformed officers are always stationed and he alerted them. The video just shows when the officers approach and when the suspect was put down. The kicker to this story is there were a total of 2 dead and 9 injured. The 9 injured allegedly by the officers. They hit the suspect 7 times but also hit 9 innocents from no more than 5'-10' away. I know some will have different opinions on this and let me start off by saying I was never in a gun battle nor do I care to be. I don't think anyone wakes up in the mornings saying I wish I can have a standoff with a perp today but as officers who should be trained for stressful situations like these I honestly think they failed. They got their guy yes and no one else was killed except for the victim and the perp but the shooting performance was atrocious.
Mayor Bloomberg of NY is one of the biggest anitgun activists you'll find out there and as it stands New Yorkers cannot carry with the exception of retired law enforcement, business owners and things of that nature. The rest of us are like sitting ducks while crime in NY is on the rise. Anyway enough of my ranting. Here's the link to the video and you decide.
