Taste like Butter

For the last 3 days, no matter what I eat or drink, I have a butter aftertaste in my mouth. Everything I eat taste like Butter. It's driving me up the wall. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Are you ever exposed to odd chemicals where you work? I've had similar experience (not butter), but I work with raw chemicals.

It's probably a tumor.

Better that it's butter and not butt.

So, I'm reading the poor man's post and thinking to myself, "I wish I knew him better so I could joke about it being a tumor"...

So much for that though.

You guys are mean and should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

It is butter, just not the kind you're thinking of. You have post nasal drip.

OK, seriously this time... Do you smoke? I do, never had a buttery taste but smoking can and does effect your taste buds. Have you had any congestion? Sometimes (as Amy said) a post nasal drip can produce taste changes.

Changes in Oral hygiene or certain tooth disorders can cause taste changes.

Also, look around work and your community. Any changes in pollution levels or hell, old filters on heating equipment, pollen levels, pesticides, etcetera, could cause issues with taste.

Now don't get all freaked out, but there are disease and forms of cancer, as well as medications, that can cause taste changes.

Before you question your health, ask yourself how you're feeling. See if it goes away. If it doesn't and this is something that is really bothering you, maybe you should go to the doctor and have it checked.

There is also a chance that it is idiopathic.

Butter is yummy... Just think... now you can eat dry toast and not get all the fatty bad stuff from rubbing butter all over it.

Don't smoke. Not running any heat or a/c so filters are out. No pesticides as of lately. Nothing has changed. I am currently sick with a bad head & chest cold, but that started days after the butter thing. Always had a sinus problem, so nothing new.

Mmmm.... bacon

Lets see, I had a flu shot last thursday. This started Sunday. Sunday was a typical day. Only thing different was dinner. Cooked a couple deer steaks marinated in JD mesquite flavored, and some cheddar & brocoli rice. I accidentally used to tblspoon of butter instead of 1 in the rice. I attributed it to that until it kept happening several days later. Only definate deviation from my regular functions is the deer meat and the flu shot.

I remember seeing an episode of "Everyone Loves Raymond" where Frank was taking the "little blue pills" and ended up losing all taste. Have you been taking anything to give you that bit "extra" for the misses?

Any other perceptual anomalies? See the ceiling breathing, walls melting, objects leaving trails, talking dogs, etc.?
Sometimes ergot fungus can grow on grains; there are cases of it being ingested and causing hallucinations afterward. It can also fester and grow in the nooks/crannies of your intestines.
Kinda like 'shrooms or peyote. Pick a good spirit guide and enjoy the trip.
