12 years this past June. We dated for 2. We have a 3 year old son who loves to Jeep as much as his mom and I do.

I was married to my daughters (17 years old) mom for 2 years and it sucked every minute. My daughter is my princess and I'd go through the hell for her all over again. Yep, she loves to Jeep as well...

last kid almost out of nursing school. enjoying not having any kids, no grand kids yet! but i hear thats a whole new ball of fun. lol

looking forward to spending another 30+ years with her, she told me it depends on what mods she finds out about and what ones i can keep hidden from her. Yikes!

A couple of false starts in the past burned me a little.....but met my wife in February 2006...had 31 dates in a row in 31 days....couldn't get enough of each other....been happily married 7.5 years now and actually better with one another now than when we started out....actually getting better with time...instead of a 7 year itch, we actually started a new intensified romance with each other again, after the addition of two daughters...it's like we are slipping around having an affair but its with each other...

Dated 3 years. Married 35. I really thought I was marrying a rich girl. Her father came home every night in one of those white doctor looking smocks. It always had hair on it. So I assumed he was a brain surgeon. No not so lucky. He is a barber. He always wants to give me a shave with one of those straight razors. Whats up with that.

The State of Texas banned us from being married... but after 11 years, two car notes, and a mortgage payment.... who cares what Texas thinks.

My wife and our are at 24 this years as well, next month. Only 2 years apart during that time, 6 months for Desert Storm and 18 months for OIF. Plus a month here or there for a school or two or six.

HUUUUUUUUUM, I have been watching some of these Halloween movies, and boy them straight razors can be lethal!
I think that a ongoing goal of keeping Daddy-in-law happy, should be a top priority. Maybe buy him something nice for Christmas, unless he is Jewish of course.
Congrats on the 35 years!!!!!!

Will be married to my high school sweetie 38 years this Friday. And I guess we are the exception to the rule having married while IN high school. Was it hard? No, not really. We have been through money problems, military separations, 3 kids, 8 grand-kids, moved all over the country and overseas. But the one constant has been our love for each other and our commitment to the marriage. I like to put it this way... Early on we stopped being John and Audrey and became JohnandAudrey.

I absolutely don't want to start an arguement here, we have the Obamacare thread for that , but is there any real, legal, benefit to marriage that can't be obtained just as easily with a simple civil contract? I ask because my brother is gay. He's also a lawyer and has documents giving his partner power of attorney, automatic inheritance in case of death, etc. While drinking beer and solving all of the world's problems we agreed that the state really doesn't need to be in the marriage business at all, gay or straight. Let the church handle the marriage part and the state manage the legal part with several different versions of civil contracts available to anyone..
(If anyone feels the need to turn this ugly, feel free to keep it to yourself as well...)

I can't fathom a relationship without an occasional fight, lol. Unless we define "fight" differently...

Dated for 3 months, married for 9 years, and going strong.

I always laughed at my mom when she said "When you meet the right girl, you'll know!"

Taxes depend. If you both make about the same amount you actually get hosed. If one person makes a fair bit more than the other as a pair you end up better.

Most of you have achieved longevity with your marriages. I don't know how you have accomplished this tough task, but you are to be CONGRATULATED!
In my 6 marriages, or should I say 5 previous. I have always blamed by ex-wives as the cause. They have always wanted to take my money, but never give any back. It's really been a challenge to find a good Woman. Well now I am broke, but have a real Lady that loves me, plus she has money, so let's see what the future will bring

I hate to be the one to say it, but marriages based on money is not a reason for marriage. It's sad that people discount such a privilege.
