Talking Terror at the Beach!!!

tiny terror that is! That's right, the chris' have been hitting the beach quite a bit lately. 3 times in the last 3 days as a matter of fact and 10 times over all this month. Thats about 5 more time than I had ever been to the beach in my entire life! And although it angers Benny when we go, he has refrained for killing us in our sleep thus far. So, this thread is useless without pics....

MMMMM Skittle! Taste the Rainbow, just watch the sand.

tiny's "love scars" from Benny

The only thing about Cali I miss is the beach and the mountains. We sailed out of Marina Del Rey and skiied Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Heavenly, and Mountain High...

Everything else... I can live without.

Yeah, that's what I said too. And you know, everyone warned me about how expensive it is to live here. Well, coming from the greater Washington DC area, the only things I noticed that are more expensive are Gas and Cigarettes.

Yeah, I can tell you that I love it here! There are only half the Mexicans that I'm used too. The people that drive here are only half as nuts as me which makes them way better than drivers around DC and honestly, I can't find a thing about this place I don't love. I should have came out here years ago.

You're seeing things, AZ, that bum is covered.

You forgot to mention the person who stopped with their radio and proceeded to dance. He or she was quite a character....... flailing about next to the street like that.

I should have came out here years ago.
I lived up in Tehachapi, 1 hr away from Edwards AFB and traffic was fine there. Drives to LA though, SUCKED, esp the 405 at rush hour after a flight from DC.

The political climate I do NOT care for one bit out there and things seem to be getting worse there for people.

I miss the skiing. I miss the beaches (though Gulf Shores, AL has sand that blows away ANY California sand). And I miss places like Yosemite for the sheer magnitude and beauty that it offers. But when you have to put up with the politics of that state and how they want to restrict things like lead bullets for hunting, it just tells me that the wrong people are in office there - with NO sign of things improving.

Confound that with the rolling blackouts, high grocery prices (since it is all subsidized, yet produced there in the San Jaoquin Valley), and high gas/energy prices, I'm just as happy to be OUT of California.

I'm sure California is a HUGE step up from DC - no WAY would I live there - and I work with the federal government. So I can surely appreciate your POV, and I hope it stays positive!

At this particular beach, the waves come in from two different directions. It makes for big ripples along the bottom, warm and cold areas, and some really rough surf at times. I was out there pretty far the other day when it was dang rough and had a wave hit me square in the back of the head just as it broke over.

I would have never believed you could get a concussion from water, but I managed to. It was a mild one, but I couldn't drive home..... still, it was a blast!!! I love the ocean. Next year, surfboards!!!!

Hahahah.. Bless her heart, she did whack her head pretty hard, and I did drive home, but only after I put electrical tape over the "I make boys cry" sticker!
