Update

Last night I had a ton of energy so I did Three 45 min runs on the treadmill at the 4.5 mph speed with 20 min breaks in between?

During the rest I would move the sprinklers in the yard and a short ab workout.

Not sore at all today and I can hardly wait to work out again today.

GOD; I wish I had a job where I worked from home so I could take workout breaks several time a day.... The Harder I worked out last night the better I felt! IS THIS WEIRD?

Today's weight:

Major Diet Tracking FUBAR!

Okay gang;

I want to start off by thanking all of you for the support you have given me through the first week or so of my weight loss campaign.

But last night I was absolutely heartbroken when I discovered my egregious error...All this time I had been tracking my weight loss progress on the scale in our upstairs bathroom.

Last night while I was watching late night TV I was running on the treadmill downstairs. My family and I live in a townhouse and apparently the flex in the upstairs floor was throwing off the scale accuracy considerably. When I finished my 45min Cardio workout I went to use the downstairs restroom. My daughter also has a scale in her restroom. So I thought to myself lets check my weight on this scale. The Scale showed 246 I was shocked because that same morning my scale showed I weighed 234!

Now Imagine my disappointment So I carried my scale and re-calibrated it to Zero on the tile in our dining room. Last Night I showed 250!

So I have to assume I was much heavier when all this started; more like 265ish not the 250 I though I was at. Now granted I have lost 2 1/4 inches off my waist and 1 1/2 inches off my chest. I'm able to wear slacks I have not worn in over a year. But the Fact remains there is no way to make absolutely sure I had lost the 15 or 16 lbs I was claiming. If I miss reported I'm sorry.

My first questiono you guys think that the 2.5 in off my waist and 1.5 off my chest would be indicative of approximately 15-16 lbs I thought I had lost?

But after some careful consideration I have decide NOT to amend any of my original goals...After all where I end up is much more important than where I started.

So I guess starting tomorrow I'll be doing 2 Cardio Workouts one when I get up and another at night. I need some results fast!

Second Question: Do you guys think I should start my weight loss tracking from the 250 lbs I thought I was, or from the 265ish I might have been? Or am I best off pretending that I just started my weight loss program all over today today?

I'm such a DORK!

Just change the numbers in your progress chart, or start over if you want but you've still accomplished something. Measuring in my opinion is always the best way to see weight loss.

While I was training hard there was actually a point in time that I began to weigh more but still lose inches. Muscle weighs more than fat and lean muscle helps burn fat. The more muscle you have the better off you will be.

Focus on what's important. You getting healthy and getting comfortable with yourself again. If you need to change the numbers, do it. It's not a huge deal and it's just numbers, you still lost weight.

I know it does, but don't get discouraged. Everyone has set backs. How you come out of them is the true measure. You just need to regroup and reset your goals.

If you have been using the same messed up scale the whole time you probably did lose that much weight. Does it read the same amount if you step off and on a few times in a row?

within a pound or two.

The reports I had been using were average of several attempts to log my weight.

I'm going to keep on Keepin' On

Last night no aerobic work out.

After work I loaded up a 19' Tandem Axle Horse Trailer with furniture from my Sister-In-Laws House. a Full Backyard, two bedroom set, two refrigerates and
some other odds and ends.

Oh yeah and both bedroom sets were upstairs now granted my wife and Sister-in-law helped but make no mistake I did the bulk of the work.

Then when I was unhooking the trailer the crack broke off in my hands. So I had to finish unhooking with the aid of my Jack in the Jeep. Then I unloaded it all and moved it into the new house. Plus four BIG TV's.

AND I HELPED SOMEONE MOVED WITHOUT BEER!

We were done about 11:30 last night... So I blew off running.

I did do 30 min of Cardio this am before I took a shower.

Not too much to report

My wife had to watch 10 hours of video for a workshop she is teaching next week so I could not do my pm treadmill workout last night since the big TV and the treadmill are both in the living room of our townhouse.

So I busted my butt cleaning house last night for about 4 hours and made 55 Trips up and down the stairs I know how many because I used my lap counter.

Sunday

We went to a birthday party today...

I helped cook out on the grill I ate a hamburger and a butt load of fruit.

Tonight cooked out at the at the house...

One glass of wine and only 4 Baby Back Ribs.

Drank about 5 Liters of Water....

Two of the guy who came to dinner tonight stood on the scale and they both thought it was 8-10 too heavy???

So who knows... As long as my weight keeps going down and I fit in my cloths a little better I'm cool with that!

A pound a day?

Wow ever since I messed up the scale thing I'm still dropping a pond a day?

I know this weight loss rate will end soon but it is kind of rewarding to keep dropping weigh.

Just think about those old slacks getting loose The poundage will follow! My son was over 350 for a little, started working hard, and gained the first month, he was heartbroken at first, but started noticing the way his clothes were fitting...

You'll get to what's called a plateau and your weight will seem to be stuck for a while. Some people even buy a new scale because it's so abrupt. Don't get discouraged (and don't buy a new scale). Also, don't cut any more calories. The thing to do is change up your workout. It's like a jump start.

Circuit training or interval training are great ways to keep weight loss going. You do exercises in rounds of two to three minutes, fifteen or twenty seconds in between (I liked to toss in ab work in between too). Anything you can think of to get your heart rate up. Climbing stairs, jumping rope, you can even toss in some weights. Do about ten stations, twice. With some kickin' music it goes fast and will keep you motivated.

Good going JT, keep it up.

I know it's odd

I think I have just about got this weight loss thing figured out.

Here is what I have been doing:

I minimum 45 min of Walking 2 times a day.

Cut way back on Breads

No Fried foods (EVER)

Next to no Alcohol

Reasonable portion sizes of food four or five times a day.

A meal replacement Shake (Slim Fast) when I'm hungry and don't have time to eat.

Oh and I'm not drinking 4-6 beers a night anymore...

No Soda not even Diet Soda

A Big Grill Chicken Salad once a day for my main meal.

4 - 5 Liters of Water everyday.

It may not be a perfect plan but it seems to be working.

I have not had too many cravings!

So far this has seemed easy.

I will tell you at 10:00 or 11:00 at night it is hard to get up the motivation to get on the treadmill. The AM work out is easy but that one at night take some real self-convincing.

The Texas Spur is now just a tad over five weeks away

Oh and I'm not drinking 4-6 beers a night anymore...

No Soda not even Diet Soda

It may not be a perfect plan but it seems to be working.
Less beer = saved money too. Good way to keep pocket change...
