The Army woes continue...

I just found out today that I can't get an Infantry position because there isn't an Infantry Unit within 50 miles of where I live. Needless to say, I switched recruiters, because the last one didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Now my choices center around 21Bravo.

Combat Engineer.

I really wanted the Infantry position, but the exact words from my new recruiter was "Combat Engineer is pretty cut-and-dry. You build $h!t, and then blow it up."

Can't really complain about that can I? lol

Well... I'm not clear on the whole "50 Mile" thing... Are you enlisting into the National Guard? If so, I used to be a National Guard Recruiter. So maybe I can help.

21 Bravo is kinda cool. But there should be other opportunities open to you. Everything from Transportation, Combat Engineer, Infantry, Services, Medical... It all depends on your ASVAB score, Education and your Background.

If you wanna take this offline and PM me with some questions and details, I'd be glad to give you some info or point you in the right direction.

Combat Engineers do get to play with some fun toys. If you're into the high-speed kind of things, like me, check out Sapper School. It trains Infantry guys on blowing stuff up more efficiently and it trains Combat Engineers on Infantry tactics. Basically, it takes our two MOS's and creates a more well-rounded warrior.

That is definitely something I will look into. That actually sounds perfect.

Thanks Cave

What a combat engineer builds is a lot of sandbags and holes in the ground.
