The deffination of happiness.

After some deep thought off and on for the last two and a half years, I still have no answer. So to all of you I ask this question. What is your definition of happiness?

Happiness is a full belly, a warm bed and the love of a good woman.

Happiness is not about getting what you want, but appreciating what you have.

Balance, a full spiritual life, the love of my family, and the time to get out and LIVE life. We weren't meant to live our lives collecting useless 'treasures,' hiding in our cave. We're supposed to get out and see, feel, and experience our world and to share the experience with others. I'm truly happy knowing that I'm the cherished son of an almighty creator who loves me. He gave me a family that isn't perfect, but they're perfect for me. There are trails to hike, mountains to climb, rivers to kayak. I have friends I would die for, and who would do the same for me. For me, happiness is the fact that my eyes are open to all of the wonders of life, having the audacity to seize the day, and the faith to live in the moment.
An occasional Jack & Coke is pretty good, too

Of corse it is different for everyone. There are a lot of things that make me happy now days but nothing puts a smile on my face like when I wake up and my 7 year old daughter has sliped into my room and crawled up into my bed and went to sleep with her head on my chest.

Call me crazy but I would rather wake up like this then with someone that I brought home for the night or weekend in my bed.(only happens when my daughter is not home)

First thing that came to mind: the unconditional love from my kids (19 & 15) and pup, and the thing I'm missing right now: holding hands with my hubs.

Great idea for a post!

I think being content with what you "have" is really all that matters. Material stuff can all be taken away and repurchased again. My daughter's love is unconditional. My wife's love is unconditional. Nothing else really matters.
