Just stopping in for a short win. I HATE not having internet at my house. And having to go out and find a public computer is worse. Oh well. I'm still alive.....for now.

Here's a meerkat for good luck.

Check this out. This guy near where I live set up some pipe and connected it to a water line somehow before winter started. He dribbles water through it and keeps adding pipe as it gets taller. I think it was at about 25' high when I took this pic. He was on the local news too.

Ya know - I just don't get that. I couldn't wait to get the heck out of the house. It almost killed me to stay there until I was 21 and could finally have my freedom. Then I got married and goodbye freedom. Then got divorced and hello freedom! Then got married again and goodbye freedom.

I'm sensing a pattern here.

for some people its not to bad. my parents are pretty chill, so i dont mind living here. as it is, i have a pretty good bit of freedom, but still have some structure that i need to keep myself in check. yeah at time its annoying, but for the most part its not to bad. as long as i do some chores every now and then, i pretty much have free reign over what ever i do. oh, its cheap to. to actually have to pay to live in the area i am at would be a couple grand a month.

other people do it cause they have to take care of their parents, or their parents have to take care of them. my neighbor is in his 50s and lives with his mom, but that is because she has had a few strokes and is in a wheel chair. so he takes care of her.

i guess its all about different situations, and its different for everyone. my parents and i constantly joke about me moving out, but when it comes down to it, me being here is far to helpful for them, especially cause my mom is still not 100% after her double knee replacement.

Do you think that you will still be living there when you are 34 years old Schnutzy?

You're right. Situations vary. It's the guys who just live with their mom's after they should have been on their own a long time ago that irk me. Like the guy behind me. There's nothing wrong with his mom - he's just a lazy freeloading SOB. I had another one five houses down from me who was the same way. Didn't work, just mooched off his moms SS check. When she told him she was going to sell the house and move into assisted living, and he was losing his free pass, he stuck a knife in her chest and went to the bar where the cops finally found him. Now he's freeloading off the taxpayers in prison.

i would hope not. but if my moms knees dont get better i may, or be very close by. my dad is kinda useless at taking care of ppl, im not and i dont mind having to do it.
although i get a good feeling when im in my 50s they will be living with me. for a while we had 3 generations in this house. both my parents moms were living with us, then my parents and me. that was interesting. one had dementia and the other had altimers. taking care of them was a full time job for both my mom and i. we went through alot of ice cream though, my nana would always take it out of the freezer and put it in the bread box at night. mornings were like a scavenger hunt to find breakfast. made things very interesting, kinda funny the places we would find stuff

yeah, thats a pretty good point. the freeloaders are a PITA. i guess since i just dont really see them around here, i tend to forget about 'em
